RHS sophomore creates”nurse purse” for local nurses

Ridgewood NJ, RHS sophomore Ani Martirossian created an essential “nurse purse” for local nurses who are serving on the front lines. Each nurse purse contains crucial health and beauty products that can be used on the go. To date, they have delivered over 500 bags to four local hospitals: The Valley Hospital, Holy Name Medical Center, Englewood Hospital, and Hackensack University Medical Center.

Ridgewood East Side Accident Sends Victim to Hackensack University Center Hospital

Ridgewood NJ,  the Ridgewood Police are currently conducting an investigation into the exact circumstances of a Thursday evening, 05/14, single vehicle crash of an SUV on Henrietta Court, Ridgewood, in which the front driver’s side door was almost ripped from the vehicle, and its adult female driver was found lying in the street with serious injuries. The victim was transported by a Ridgewood EMS ambulance to Hackensack University Center’s main campus. A paramedic team from The Valley Hospital assisted Ridgewood EMTs with patient evaluation and transport. Washington Township Police also assisted at the scene as did members of Ridgewood Fire Department Engine Company #35.

Southbound Parkway Crash in Paramus Sends One Victim to the Hospital

Paramus NJ, The driver of a Subaru Outback sustained minor injuries during a rollover crash on the Garden State Parkway southbound in Paramus on Wednesday afternoon, 05/06. Paramus Police, Paramus EMS, Paramus Fire Engine Companies #1 and #3, NJSP Bloomfield Barracks, Washington Township Police, and a paramedic team from The Valley Hospital responded to the incident. The victim was transported by ambulance to a local hospital. A flatbed tow truck righted and removed the wrecked Subaru from the roadway.

Medical Episode Caused the Driver to Lose Control and Crash into a Wall on the Exit ramp of Route 17 northbound to Linwood Avenue in Ridgewood

Ridgewood NJ, A devastating medical episode apparently caused the driver of a KIA Sportage to lose control of the vehicle and crash into a concrete wall on the exit ramp of Route 17 northbound to Linwood Avenue westbound in Ridgewood on Saturday afternoon, 04/25. Personnel from Ridgewood Police, Ridgewood EMS, and Ridgewood Fire Department, along with a paramedic team from The Valley Hospital, rushed to aid the seemingly lifeless victim, who was rushed by ambulance to The Valley Hospital. A tow truck removed the wrecked SUV from the roadway. All traffic was diverted away from the exit ramp while emergency personnel were engaged in performing life saving procedures.

Bicyclist Collides with Car at the Intersection of Grove Street and South Van Dien Avenue in Ridgewood

Ridgewood Nj, Ridgewood Police, Ridgewood Fire department, and Ridgewood EMS personnel rushed to aid an adult male who was seriously injured when his bicycle collided with a passenger vehicle at the intersection of Grove Street and South Van Dien Avenue, Ridgewood early Thursday evening, 04/02. EMTs staffing a passing Fair Lawn EMS ambulance attended to the victim until Ridgewood units arrived at the scene. The victim was transported to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson. A paramedic team from The Valley Hospital assisted evaluating the victim’s injuries at the scene. Police did not indicate whether any summonses were/would be issued in connection with the incident. The wrecked bicycle was transported to Ridgewood Police headquarters.

Car Collides with Amazon Delivery Truck on South Pleasant in Ridgewood

Ridgewood NJ, The adult female driver of a Honda Civic was injured when her vehicle collided with an Amazon delivery van at the intersection of South Pleasant Avenue and Grove Street, Ridgewood, on Friday afternoon, 03/27. The victim, who appeared to have sustained non life threatening injuries, was transported by ambulance to The Valley Hospital. Ridgewood Police, Ridgewood Fire Department, Ridgewood EMS, and the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division responded to the incident.

Ridgewood NJ, As the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic continues to evolve, we understand that it is a significant source of concern for all of us, our family members, and the communities we serve.  I personally take comfort knowing that at Valley we have an incredible team that has always come together in times of challenge.

I am writing today to ask for your help.  A national shortage of masks, gowns, goggles, and other personal protective equipment is one of the biggest issues right now for hospitals and healthcare workers. If you have extra supplies of unused personal protective equipment, we ask that you consider donating them to Valley.

Victim Transported to Valley Hospital with Non life Threatening Injuries after East Glen Crash

Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood Fire Department, Ridgewood EMS, a paramedic team from The Valley Hospital, and Ridgewood Police operated at a rollover motor vehicle accident with entrapment in the 600 block of East Glen Avenue, Ridgewood on Wednesday afternoon, 02/19. One (1) driver, an adult female, was transported to The Valley Hospital with non life threatening injuries. Another injured individual refused medical attention at the scene. Two (2) vehicles were totaled in the crash and removed from the scene by separate tow trucks.

Ridgewood Police, Ridgewood EMS, and a paramedic team from The Valley Hospital responded to aid the victim. A flatbed tow truck removed the wreckage.

Multiple Accidents at Ridgewood Crash Scene

Ridgewood NJ, One (1) individual was transported by ambulance to The Valley Hospital following a three (3) vehicle, Monday afternoon, 02/03, crash at the intersection of Linwood Avenue and Paramus Road, Ridgewood. Ridgewood Police, Ridgewood Fire Department, Ridgewood EMS, and a paramedic team from The Valley Hospital responded to the incident. Tow trucks removed all three (3) vehicles involved. A second crash occurred during the accident investigation when a pick up truck unlawfully crossed police lines and backed into a stationary object. It is not known whether the pick up truck driver was issued a summons in connection with the second crash.

Pedestrian Struck by Bergen Line NJ Transit Train in Glen Rock

Glen Rock NJ, Glen Rock Police and NJ Transit Police responded to investigate the death of a pedestrian trespasser, reportedly struck by a NJ Transit Bergen Line train, at the Harristown Road,rail crossing, Glen Rock, on Wednesday morning, 01/22. A paramedic unit from The Valley Hospital also responded to the scene. Glen Rock Police are detouring all traffic Harristown Road down Glen Avenue to Maple Avenue.

The Valley Hospital is Currently Restricting visitors to Prevent the Spread of the Flu

Ridgewood NJ, Due to high flu activity in the region, The Valley Hospital is currently restricting visitors to prevent the spread of the flu. Effective Monday, January 13, no one under the age of 14 will be allowed to visit the following departments: Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Pediatrics, Labor and Delivery, and Mother Baby. In addition, anyone with flu symptoms, such as coughing, sneezing, runny nose, or fever, should be asked to refrain from visiting.
