Upper Saddle River NJ, according to the Upper Saddle River Police , a 38 year-old female from North Arlington was stopped on Route 17 North for various motor vehicle offenses. The female was subsequently found in possession of approximately 90 bags of heroin. She was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, Possession of Hypodermic Needles, and numerous motor vehicle offenses. The female was subsequently released on her own recognizance.

Upper Saddle River NJ, on Thursday the Upper Saddle River Fire Department was requested to a home within the borough for a reported structure fire. First arriving units from Upper Saddle River Police reported they had smoke showing from the structure and Asst. Chief 1240 requested the second alarm be struck bringing in additional apparatus and man power to the scene. The fire was placed under control shortly after arrival of Upper Saddle River Fire Department apparatus and there were no injuries.
Saddle River NJ, Route 17 southbound was the scene of another rainy Sunday, 03/28, “off the roadway” crash, this one occurring in Saddle River, near East Allendale Avenue. What appeared to have been a Toyota pick up truck wound up in a wooded area between a highway entrance and exit ramp. One (1) victim was transported by ambulance to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A significant fuel spill was associated with the mishap according to a police supervisor at the scene. Two (2) tow trucks were required to remove the vehicle from the wooded area and haul it from the scene. Saddle River Police was assisted by Upper Saddle River Police and Allendale Police at the scene. Saddle River Fire department also responded along with Allendale EMS.
Upper Saddle River NJ, earlier on Saturday the New Jersey State Police and the Upper Saddle River Police Department were seeking the public’s assistance with locating Erin Mitchell, 83, from Upper Saddle River, N.J. Erin was last seen on Thursday, December 24, in Upper Saddle River driving a green 2004 Honda Accord with New Jersey plates V40LAZ. The vehicle was last seen on Tuesday, December 29, at 3:14 p.m., traveling westbound on Interstate 78 in Lebanon, N.J.

Ramsey NJ, Ramsey Police, Ramsey Fire, Ramsey Rescue, and Ramsey EMS responded to aid multiple victims of a four (4) vehicle crash at the intersection of East Crescent Avenue and Lake Street, Ramsey on Thursday afternoon, 02/27. Upper Saddle River Police assisted with traffic control. All four (4) vehicles were towed from the scene.

Upper Saddle River NJ, a deer with a plastic pumpkin stuck on its head was wondering the Borough of Upper Saddle River for days . The Upper Saddle River Police had issued an, “If anyone spots the deer with the pumpkin on its head please call the USRPD at 201-327-2700 immediately with exact location. We have a team searching for it. Thank you.” .The deer has been found and the pumpkin removed. Outstanding work by TYCO Animal Control and the NJ Division of Fish & Wildlife.

” It is with heavy hearts that the Upper Saddle River Police Department announces the untimely passing of Senior Dispatcher Robert “Bobby” Hyman. Bobby answered the calls of residents and kept the officers of the USRPD safe for 25 years. Bobby was a great friend with an infectious laugh that will be impossible to forget. We will all miss him very much.
Bobby also served the public as a member of both the Mahwah and Upper Saddle River Fire Departments. He was a dedicated coach for numerous Mahwah sports teams. Please keep Bobby’s wife and two sons, ages 10 and 16, in your thoughts and prayers.”

PARAMUS NJ, according to the Paramus Police at around 2:35 a.m. Wednesday morning , Paramus police received an alert from Upper Saddle River police that officers were in per suite of a 2017 BMW 7 series on Route 17 that had been reported stolen Monday in Deal NJ. A short time later, Paramus officer Nicholas Tanelli spotted the car, which was occupied by three men, and attempted to initiate a traffic stop.The BMW headed south, onto the Garden State Parkway and then onto Route 21, Tanelli, along with Paramus Police Officer Connor Nutland, continued to pursue the vehicle, which lost control near Exit 4 in Newark and crashed, striking one of the Paramus police cars.

Law enforcement officers from around the State of New Jersey will run with the Flame of Hope in the 36th Annual Torch Run for Special Olympics New Jersey. Over 3,000 officers will be taking part as either runners, escort or volunteers to not only raise money but to also bring awareness of and for the athletes. The run will culminate at The College of New Jersey on Friday night at the opening ceremonies of the SONJ Summer Games. The Flame of Hope will light the cauldron to start the games! The arrest is the result of a joint investigation conducted by members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Robert Anzilotti and the Upper Saddle River Police Department under the direction of Chief Patrick Rotella.
