Westwood NJ, according to Westwood Mayor Ray Arroyo , “Troop 350 Eagle Scout candidate AJ Greco completed his project in time for Veterans Day. AJ had a vision, asked all the right questions in order to secure the governing body’s support, and he developed a strategic plan for fundraising and implementation. Then he followed through and delivered. What a wonderful tribute to our local veterans, executed by a young man with a plan!”

Washington DC, World War I – known at the time as “The Great War” – officially ended when the Treaty of Versailles was signed on June 28, 1919, in the Palace of Versailles outside the town of Versailles, France. However, fighting ceased seven months earlier when an armistice, or temporary cessation of hostilities, between the Allied nations and Germany went into effect on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month. For that reason, November 11, 1918, is generally regarded as the end of “the war to end all wars.”In November 1919, President Wilson proclaimed November 11 as the first commemoration of Armistice Day with the following words: “To us in America, the reflections of Armistice Day will be filled with solemn pride in the heroism of those who died in the country’s service and with gratitude for the victory, both because of the thing from which it has freed us and because of the opportunity it has given America to show her sympathy with peace and justice in the councils of the nations…”

Twp of Washington NJ, Twp of Washington continues to deal with a raise in COVID cases. The Township staff are currently working remotely after a member of the administrative staff who has limited interaction with the rest of the staff has tested positive for Covid-19. As a result, that employee will be self-quarantined and will have to follow all CDC and Health Department guidelines before returning to work in approximately two weeks. All employees have been notified, and the building had its regularly scheduled weekly full sanitation on November 8, 2020. Out of an abundance of caution, the Town Hall Staff will all work remotely for the week of November 9, 2020.

Ridgewood NJ, How disrespectful. An elected official, introduced by the Master of Ceremonies as an “honored guest,” sitting on the dais snapping photos during a solemn ceremony honoring veterans of war. No one else on the dais had either a camera or a cell phone in hand during the entire ceremony. What a moron. How did he ever get elected?
