Ridgewood NJ, The upcoming Village Council meetings are on the following dates/times:
September 4, 2019 – Work Session – 7:30 p.m.
September 11, 2019 – Public Meeting – 8:00 p.m.
September 25, 2019 – Work Session – 7:30 p.m.
The Village Council meetings are open to the public, with Public Comments at both the beginning and the end of every meeting. They are broadcast live on both Optimum (Channel 77) and Fios (Channel 34), can be viewed as a livestream on the Village website, and can also be viewed after the meeting on YouTube (connect through the Village website).

Ridgewood NJ, the Ridgewood Village council congratulates the American Legion Post 53 on the 100th Anniversary of their charter.
The Council offered a thank to the members of American Legion Post 53 for their service to our country and for continuing to work to ensure our veterans and fallen heroes receive the respect and dignity they so selflessly earned and deserve.

July 31st was “Maria Doerr Day” in Ridgewood

Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood Court Administrator Maria Doerr retired on July 31. She was an asset to the Village, very professional, friendly, and understanding. She will be missed by those who worked with her. Enjoy your retirement, Maria, you deserve it!
It is ironic, however, that a photo taken at her retirement was credited to Jeffrey D. Voigt. If not for Voigt, Ms. Doerr’s work life would have been a whole lot easier. She spent a great deal of time processing frivolous complaints that the councilman filed against citizens and council colleagues, all of which were thrown out when they reached a judge’s desk. She was surely rolling her eyes that he even had the audacity to show up when the proclamation was read by Deputy Mayor Knudsen, proclaiming July 31 as “Maria Doerr Day.”
Looks like Mayor Hache’s rush to be politically correct and garner favors with the pride community is going to backfire big time now

Ridgewood NJ, Did anyone listen to the Council meeting the other night? In between the discussions about Schedler and the parking garage, there was an interesting few minutes about the new flagpole in Van Neste. For those of you who have not been paying attention, that pole was erected on the North-West corner of the park in a big fat hurry in May, in order to get a PRIDE flag flying in time for June. The pole was funded by “private” donation from the owner of Park West, Frank DelVecchio, JOLT, Vagianos, the owner of Pearl, and Siobhan Winograd. Some on the Council seemingly did not even know about it until it was installed. But Mayor Hache sure did know. Although it was installed because of the impending Pride month, the flagpole was a gift to the Village and no group or entity has ownership of it. Well, the pride flag went up in a very nice ceremony, and it flew there for the month of June, and now the Council has been tasked with figuring out what the heck to do about regulating other flags. Ridgewood Councilmen’s Facebook Page May Run Afoul of State law

Ridgewood NJ, in Glen Rock a OPRA lawsuit in 2018 ,”a Glen Rock resident named Timothy Larkin claimed he was “banned” from participating in a public dialogue on Councilman Skip Huisking’s Facebook page, which Huisking called an “official” page of Huisking’s, where the councilman conducts official government business.
On April 10, Larkin filed a lawsuit against the Borough of Glen Rock, and Borough Clerk Jackie Scalia, for denying an Open Public Records Act (OPRA) request for access to the list of Facebook accounts blocked or removed by Glen Rock mayor Bruce Packer and all members of the Borough Council. The suit is focusing on the public Facebook pages maintained by the mayor and council members, and not their personal Facebook pages.
