Waldwick NJ, an Uber driver who had pulled over on Route 17 to check on a sick passenger was hit by a passing vehicle and hospitalized with injury. Waldwick police Lt. Troy Seifert said the ride-share driver, from Yonkers, was hit about 12:35 a.m. Saturday on Route 17 South prior to the Sheridan Avenue exit in Waldwick.

Waldwick NJ, Representatives from the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office Bureau of Criminal Investigation were observed collecting physical and photographic evidence from the scene of an incident on Grove Street, Waldwick in which a parked, unoccupied Lexus SUV was riddled with bullets during the early morning hours of Wednesday, 11/30. No injuries were reported in the incident. Following their on scene collection of evidence, the vehicle was towed to a Sheriff’s Office location in Hackensack for further inspection. Police have not yet revealed what may have motivated the currently unknown shooter(s) to take aim at the late model Lexus SUV. Several area residents are reported to have heard the gunshots and provided investigators with doorbell video footage of individuals/vehicles traveling on streets near the shooting just prior to, and after it took place.

Waldwick NJ, on Wednesday, 06/29, lunchtime business at a popular Waldwick restaurant was completely disrupted when a tractor trailer making an unlawful U-turn knocked down all power and communications cabling leading into the business. No injuries were reported in the mishap. Waldwick Police and PSE&G’s Electric Division responded to the incident.

Waldwick NJ , a young male driver and his passenger escaped injury when the driver’s 4-door BMW sedan slammed into a utility pole and two (2) street signs on Route 17 southbound at Summit Avenue, Waldwick on Thursday afternoon, 03/17. Waldwick Police responded to the incident, which did not hamper traffic flow on either side of Route 17. A flatbed tow truck removed the heavily damaged sedan from the scene. Police on location did not indicate what may have caused the crash.

Waldwick NJ, the Waldwick Fire Department responded to a working fire in the attic of a home on Douglas Street around midnight this morning. Waldwick Fire Department units arrived on scene and put 2 hand lines into service and quickly extinguished the fire. The department reported that all occupants including several cats made it out safely. The Waldwick Fire Department thanked the assistance of the Allendale Fire, HoHoKus Fire, Wyckoff, Midland Park Fire and Mahwah Fire Department for their assistance.

Waldwick NJ, all units from Waldwick Volunteer Fire Department operating at a multi car collision on Route 17 at Sheridan Avenue . Crews had to extricate two individuals from a Honda that went off the road and over the guardrail and landed on the passenger side. Both victims were removed swiftly and turned over to WALVAC for transport.

The Waldwick Fire Department arrived at the scene and spread Speedi-Dri on a spill . The spill was reported by Ex-Chief Joe Agugliaro while performing his crossing guard duties on East Prospect Street & Ridge Street .

Waldwick NJ, a Waldwick Police patrol officer observed a stolen motorcycle traveling at 130 mph on Route 17 southbound late Saturday afternoon, 04/24, and pursed the bike and its adult male operator into Paramus, where heavy highway traffic forced the operator to exit onto West Ridgewood Avenue. A successful traffic stop was then initiated, and the operator was taken into custody. A tow truck was summoned to remove the impounded motorcycle from the roadway. No injuries were reported in the incident. Paramus Police officers assisted at the arrest scene until back up Waldwick Police units arrived.

Waldwick NJ, Waldwick Fire Department responded to a structure fire on West Prospect Street. Arriving units had heavy fire showing from second floor windows. Engine 631 stretched 2 hand lines and brought the fire under control. Chief Mike Ferrara activated NORCON and called for a second alarm. Two residents were treated for injuries and a third alarm was eventually sounded for coverage of the Boro.
