Paramus NJ, an early morning patrol by a Bergen County Sheriff’s Department officer led to the discovery of an unoccupied 2014 Mercedes Benz sedan crashed into a utility pole at the intersection of Roedel Place and West Midland Avenue in Paramus. The incident occurred around 5:30 AM on Wednesday, June 26.
Paramus NJ, Paramus Road in Paramus was closed in both directions between West Ridgewood Avenue and West Midland Avenue for an extended period on Monday, 03/27. The closure was resultant from a crash in which a pickup truck severed a utility pole across from the Paramus Food Center at approximately 0830 hours. The pickup truck’s driver was uninjured; however, his truck was totaled and removed from the scene by a flatbed tow truck. Paramus Police responded along with crews from PSE&G’s Electric Division.
Paramus NJ, the adult driver of a KIA Sportage escaped injury during an early Wednesday afternoon, 10/05, crash in which the vehicle jumped two (2) concrete traffic control islands as it careened across busy West Midland Avenue in Paramus. and slammed into a detached garage and fence. A traffic control sign was flattened as well. Paramus Police and Paramus Fire Department responded to the mishap. The damaged vehicle was towed from the scene.
Paramus NJ, A Paramus Police supervising officer at the scene of a Thursday morning, 06/23, crash on Route 17 northbound under West Midland Avenue, Paramus was reluctant to say exactly why a Range Rover fell off of a new car carrier onto the traveled roadway, causing a crash with injuries involving at least one (1) other vehicle. The extent of injuries, and who was injured, was not revealed. Paramus Police, Paramus EMS, and Paramus Fire Company #3 responded to the incident. Two (2) vehicles, including the Range Rover, were towed from the scene by separate flatbed tow trucks.
Paramus NJ, An adult male bicyclist was struck by an SUV and seriously injured Thursday afternoon, 05/24, on Paramus Road just south of West Midland Avenue in Paramus. The victim, who was knocked off of this bike and thrown against the SUV’s windshield, was rushed by ambulance to Hackensack University Medical Center’s main campus. The visibly distraught driver of the SUV remained on the scene and was also transported by ambulance to an undisclosed hospital. A flatbed tow truck lifted the SUV off of the damaged bicycle and removed the vehicle from the scene. Paramus Police and EMS, responded along with an ambulance from Hackensack University Medical Center, and a paramedic team from The Valley Hospital. Police at the scene were observed interviewing several witnesses to the incident, including an individual who was waiting for a bus at a nearby bus stop.
