NJ State Police Seeking Public’s Assistance with Fatal Crash Investigation

Lakewood NJ, the New Jersey State Police is seeking the public’s assistance with a fatal motor vehicle crash investigation that occurred on the Garden State Parkway on November 20.
At approximately 10:17 p.m., Holmdel Station troopers responded to a single vehicle crash on the Garden State Parkway southbound entrance ramp 89A from State Highway 70 in Lakewood Township, Ocean County.

Ridgewood NJ, the Ridgewood Police Department escorted this year’s Christmas tree from Township of Washington to East Ridgewood and Broad St where it will be decorated for the Downtown for the holidays celebration on December 3rd. Downes Tree Service got the tree in shape and in the stand . The tree stands 60 feet tall where it is now and it is a Norway spruce.

Paramus NJ, Stew Leonard’s held their 3rd Annual Turkey Brigade. Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco joined Stew and his incredible team, with the help of Paramus Mayor Richard LaBarbiera and the Paramus Police Department, in the distribution of over 350 turkeys to various organizations throughout Bergen County. The goal of the event is to provide Thanksgiving meals to families in need. Stew’s generosity is truly commendable and the County of Bergen is grateful for his commitment to our community.

I stand in support of those calling for the NJEA to retract its statement and to apologize for their terribly short-sighted and premature response to last weeks verdict.  I was shocked and appalled by the reckless and totally irresponsible reaction from the New Jersey Education Association (NJEA) following Friday’s not guilty verdict in the murder trial of Kyle Rittenhouse.

Dumont Boy Collapses and Dies While Playing Basketball

Dumont NJ,  14-year-old Aaron Vasquez unexpectedly collapsed and died while playing basketball this past Saturday, November 20, 2021. Vasquez had finished practicing with his basketball traveling team, when he decided to stay longer at the Grant Elementary School to play with his younger brother, according to witnesses. CPR was attempted on site then members of the Dumont Volunteer Ambulance Corps rushed him to Hackensack University Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.

At Google Robots Do the Work Most Americans Don’t Want to Do

Ridgewood NJ, Alphabet’s (Google) Everyday Robots Project team has released some of its prototype machines onto Google’s Bay Area campuses to carry out light custodial tasks. The robots are essentially arms on wheels that feature a multipurpose gripper. They have a head with cameras and sensors, including a spinning LIDAR unit for navigation. Alphabet aims to create robots that can manipulate never-before-seen objects in novel settings.

Ridgewood NJ, Nearly four out of five Americans will gather together for Thanksgiving and most haven’t let the COVID-19 pandemic change their plans for this year’s holiday.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 79% of American Adults say they are planning on getting together with family or friends this Thanksgiving. That’s up from 50% last year. Thirteen percent (13%) won’t be gathering with family or friends for the holiday. (To see survey question wording, click here.)
