US Government Accountability Office (GAO) Releases Report Detailing Better Pandemic Response

Washington DC, the US is concurrently responding to and recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic, with an ongoing national vaccination campaign and widespread loosening of public health measures amid a recent increase in cases. Recognizing this balance as “fragile,” the US Government Accountability Office (GAO) on July 19 released its 7th comprehensive report on the COVID-19 pandemic, providing an additional 15 recommendations to various US government agencies. Previous reports included a total of 72 recommendations on COVID-19, with agencies agreeing to implement 57 of them and having fully implemented 16 to date.

Multiple Police Agencies Respond to Threat at Congressman Josh Gottheimer’s Glen Rock Office

Glen Rock NJ, on Thursday July 15th at 9:26 AM ,Glen Rock Police report that the staff at Congressman Josh Gottheimer’s Glen Rock office received a phone call informing them that a man who had the potential to become violent was on the way to their office.  Additional information was developed that the man was aggrieved over the lack of responsiveness he felt he was receiving from various governmental agencies in response to a complaint he had made.  He was coming to the congressman’s office to seek his assistance and informed an associate that they should call the police as he did not know what he was going to do if the congressman could not help him, alluding to potential violence.

Stolen Unlocked Car in Glen Rock Located in Paterson

Glen Rock NJ, on Monday July 12th at  05:48 AM a Southboro Lane resident reported to Glen Rock Police that their 2013 Honda Civic had been stolen from their driveway overnight. The vehicle had been left unlocked with the keys in it. The resident also reported that $9,000 worth of golf equipment and a laptop computer in the vehicle along with $218,000 worth of orthopedic instruments and implants associated with the resident’s employment, had been in the vehicle when it was taken.

Franklin Lakes Firefighters Free a Trapped Driver after a Rollover Crash on Summit Avenue

Franklin Lakes NJ, Franklin Lakes firefighters freed a trapped driver after a rollover crash. According to reports at 8:55pm crews were dispatched to a reported rollover with entrapment on Summit Avenue at Lynn Drive. Chief 330 and 340 and Franklin Lakes Police arrived on scene just minutes after dispatch to find an SUV on its side with 1 occupant trapped inside the drivers seat. Rescue 3, Squad 3 and Engine 334 quickly arrived on scene and stabilized the vehicle using Res-Q-Jack struts and began removing the roof. The victim was turned over to Franklin Lakes Volunteer Ambulance Corps and ALS for transport to a local hospital.

Mars, NASA is making final preparations for its Perseverance Mars rover to collect its first-ever sample of Martian rock, which future planned missions will transport to Earth. The six-wheeled geologist is searching for a scientifically interesting target in a part of Jezero Crater called the “Cratered Floor Fractured Rough.”

Ridgewood NJ, in a major milestone the Pi Network reached 21M users on 7/20/2021 (859 days after launch on Pi Day 3/14/2019). If growth continues at this rate we will reach 100M in 341 more days on 6/26/2022). Of course, this rate can change, for example, any positive news could accelerate things. Also, according to the graphic posted by the developers the mainnet launch should happen well before reaching 100M – it can happen whenever it is ready.
