Arrest Made in Paramus Homicide

Paramus NJ, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of MELVIN THOMAS (DOB: 04/05/1991; single; unemployed) of Paramus, NJ, on charges of murder, desecration of human remains, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, possession of a weapon, and hindering. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Acting Chief Matthew Finck and the Paramus Police Department under the direction of Chief Robert M. Guidetti.

Winter Weather Advisory: Snow Early Then Very Cold

Ridgewood NJ, the National Weather Service has a Winter Weather Advisory in place for Saturay February 17th  . “Snow, mainly before 8am, then a slight chance of snow showers after 1pm. High near 38. Light and variable wind becoming northwest 8 to 13 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 23 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.”

NASA Sends Robot to the Moon

Ridgewood NJ, on Thursday, Feb. 15, at 1:05 a.m. EST, SpaceX’s Falcon 9 launched Intuitive Machines’ first lunar lander to the Moon’s surface. The lander is scheduled to land on the Moon’s South Pole region on Thursday, Feb. 22. The group of NASA instruments aboard the lander will conduct scientific research and demonstrate technologies to help us better understand the Moon’s environment and improve landing precision and safety in the challenging conditions of the lunar south polar region, paving the way for future Artemis astronaut missions.

Fort Lee NJ, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the conviction of RANDY GALLMAN of Jersey City, NJ in connection with the attack of a Bergen County woman in broad daylight on December 29, 2020. On February 8, 2024, after a two-week trial before the Honorable James X. Sattely, P.J.Cr., in Bergen County Superior Court, RANDY GALLMAN was convicted of attempted kidnapping, attempted sexual assault, criminal sexual contact, simple assault, and harassment. Sentencing is scheduled for May 3, 2024.
