Multiple Police Agencies Take Down Armed Robbery Crew

Palisades Park NJ, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrests of KEVIN ULYSSES (DOB: 04/03/2004; unemployed) of 658 East 227th Street in the Bronx, New York; RAHQUAN BROOKS (DOB: 11/08/2003; unemployed; currently incarcerated in the State of New York); and two JUVENILES on charges related to multiple armed robberies in Bergen County, NJ. The arrests are the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Acting Chief Matthew Finck, the Ridgefield Park PoliMulti Ploces Agencies ce Department under the direction of Chief Joseph Rella, and the Palisades Park Police Department under the direction of Chief Anthony Espino.

70-year old Air Force Veteran Picks Up Cigarette Butts to Raise Funds for Lung Health and Clean Up Community

Cinnaminson NJ, 70-year old Air Force veteran, Cinnaminson, NJ resident Jim Alturo – who spent 40 years working in Center City Philadelphia –  started the “Jim’s Cigarette Butt Challenge” to raise funds for the American Lung Association, clean up the streets in South Jersey and challenge others in the Greater Philadelphia area and the nation to do the same. He has picked up more than 24,000 butts in his New Jersey community in 2023 and has a fundraising goal of $35,000 for 2024.

Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood Police issued one (1) summons in connection with a two (2) vehicle, Wednesday morning, 02/14, collision at the intersection of East Ridgewood Avenue and North Irving Street, in Ridgewood. The driver of a black colored Tesla involved in the crash was transported by ambulance to The Valley Hospital with non-life threatening wrist and back injuries. Both vehicles were towed from the scene. Ridgewood Fire Department/EMS also responded to the incident.

Blood Proteins Reveal at-risk People for Dementia

Ridgewood NJ, a study has identified blood proteins that appear to predict the risk of developing dementia up to 15 years before diagnosis. High levels of the blood proteins GFAP, NEFL, GDF15, and LTBP2 are strongly associated with dementia. Blood levels of these proteins can be outside of normal ranges more than 10 years before symptom onset. The findings, once validated, may lead to the development of blood tests that identify people at risk of developing dementia.

Washington DC, the Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U) increased 0.3 percent in January on a seasonally adjusted basis, after rising 0.2 percent in December, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. Over the last 12 months, the all items index increased 3.1 percent before seasonal adjustment.
