Paramus NJ, Bergen New Bridge Medical Center cut the ribbon on its skilled trade apprenticeship facility, celebrating the partnership between the hospital and the Bergen County Technical Schools (BCTS). The Medical Center places students who have completed the relevant coursework through BCTS into apprenticeships with licensed mentors who are plumbers, HVAC technicians, and electricians. The hospital is currently hosting three apprentices.

The new acute-care hospital will feature 370 private patient rooms and will be the centerpiece of a comprehensive 40-acre healthcare campus that also includes Valley’s medical office building at 140 East Ridgewood Avenue, and the Robert & Audrey Luckow Pavilion, which houses Valley-Mount Sinai Comprehensive Cancer Care, The George R. Jaqua Same Day Services Center, a full-service retail pharmacy.

Driver Trapped in Route 17 Early Morning Collision in Waldwick

Waldwick NJ, Waldwick firefighters responded to Route 17 southbound near Dora Avenue, Waldwick early Thursday morning, 10/05, to extricate the driver of a silver colored Honda Fit that had been involved in a two (2) vehicle collision. The victim walked to a waiting Waldwick EMS ambulance after firefighters successfully freed her. A box truck was reported to have been the second vehicle involved in the accident. The Honda was removed from the scene by a flatbed tow truck. Waldwick Police investigated the crash.

Major Uptick in Ransomware Attacks on New Jersey Businesses and Institutions

Ridgewood NJ, according to Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) 2024 Homeland Threat Assessment  in the past month, there has been an uptick in reported ransomware incidents as threat actors continue to target New Jersey private organizations and the public sector, including school districts and local municipalities. The threat actors exploited security vulnerabilities and misconfigured devices to infiltrate systems and networks and encrypt them with ransomware variants, such as Cl0P, BlackCat, LockBit, and Akira. As a result of the attacks, files were at risk of exfiltration and contained personally identifiable information (PII) of users and customers of the victim organizations.

Preston Walker Stott of Ridgewood Passes Away at 18

Ridgewood Nj, we are sad to announce the passing of  Preston Walker Stott 18 of Ridgewood on October 3, 2023 .Preston was a senior at Ridgewood High School and a member of the Football team .

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 6th 2023 from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Feeney Funeral Home (232 Franklin Ave, Ridgewood, NJ 07450). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 7th 2023 at 10:30 AM at the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel RC Church (1 Passaic St, Ridgewood, NJ 07450).
