Ridgewood NJ, annual Touch-A-Truck Event – May 18, 2023 – 9:00 am – 2:00 pm – Memorial Park at Van Neste Square – This annual event allows pre-school aged children to take a seat behind the wheel of a real police cruiser, climb aboard a shiny fire truck, and explore up close a fleet of the other emergency and public works vehicles which are usually only seen at a distance. There will also be a Safety Town Kiddie-Car Driving Track, hosted by the Ridgewood Police Department and Little Ivy Learning Center, and a truck story time hosted by the Ridgewood Library. There is no rain date for this event.

Sussex, Morris and Passaic County NJ, the highly anticipated NJ Army Tank Pull is back for its 13th edition, continuing its mission to raise funds and support for veterans in need. This annual event, jointly hosted by the New Jersey Knights of Columbus, Catholic Charities, Diocese of Paterson, and veteran partners from throughout New Jersey, will take place on June 11, 2023. The Tank Pull will be held at 100 Clifton Avenue, in Clifton, New Jersey, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Hackensack NJ, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of MERVIN J. MENIER (DOB: 02/23/1993; single; unemployed) of 314 3rd Street, 2nd floor, Union City, NJ, on a charge of possession with intent to distribute cocaine. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love.

City of Hackensack Fire Fighters Rescue Occupant from Stuck Elevator

Hackensack Nj, on Monday at 10:27am City of Hackensack Firefighters Engine 2 was dispatched to 380 West Pleasantview Avenue on a stuck occupied elevator. Upon arrival Engine 2 found a occupied stalled elevator in a blind shaft, Engine 2 requested Ladder 1 and Deputy 3 to respond for assistance. Power was secured to the elevator and members manually lowered the stalled elevator down out of the blind shaft and removed occupant.

Medical Episode Sends Flatbed into Tree Near a Former Barnes & Noble off Route 17 South in Paramus

Paramus NJ, a flatbed tow truck driver crashed into a tree after experiencing a medical episode while driving near a former Barnes & Noble store at the intersection of Glen Avenue and Route 17 southbound in Paramus late Tuesday morning, 05/16. The victim was quickly attended to by a paramedic team from The Valley Hospital along with Paramus Police and Paramus EMS personnel. He was transported by ambulance to The Valley Hospital after on-scene evaluation and treatment. A heavy-duty tow truck removed the damaged vehicle from the scene.

Ridgewood NJ, is a Special Weather Statement the Nation Weather Service …CONDITIONS REMAIN FAVORABLE FOR RAPID FIRE SPREAD FOR  WEDNESDAY… An elevated potential for fire spread is possible for  Wednesday due to dry conditions and gusty winds. Antecedent dry conditions along with relative humidity values below 30 percent are expected. Wind gusts upwards of 25 mph are also expected. Despite the recent green-up, these conditions may allow for elevated fire spread if ignition occurs.

Platkin co-led a coalition of 12 attorneys general in filing a comment letter supporting robust antidiscrimination protections for transgender students in response to a proposed rule by the U.S. Department of Education (USDOE) that would clarify how schools receiving federal funding can remain in compliance with Title IX, a federal civil rights statute, when determining a transgender student’s eligibility to participate on school athletic teams.

NJ State Police: Weekend 287 Crash in Mahwah ,Fatal

Mahwah NJ, according to a New Jersey State Police spokesperson a Chester man died in a single-car crash on Route 287 in Mahwah on Saturday afternoon. The victim Vincent Infinito, 29, died after he was ejected from his Jeep Wrangler. The vehicle was heading north on 287 when it drove off the right side of the road, went down an embankment, struck a tree and rotated counterclockwise, state police Sgt. Philip Curry said. The right lane on the northbound side of 287 was shut down for around four hours Saturday as a result of the crash.
