Ridgewood NJ, not a bit of good news came out of Wednesday’s Village Council Budget Meeting, the last of several public meetings during which Council members discussed components of the proposed 2023 municipal budget.

Bergenfield NJ, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of JULIO VALENCIA (DOB: 06/19/1970; single; construction) of Bergenfield, NJ, on charges of sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love and the Bergenfield Police Department under the direction of Chief Mustafa Rabboh.

Fairview NJ, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the conviction of DAVID MARTINEZ of North Bergen, NJ for his involvement in an armed robbery that resulted in the death of David Duque Soto in Fairview, NJ on June 29, 2019. On March 13, 2023, following a four-week jury trial before the Honorable Margaret M. Foti, P.J.Cr., in Bergen County Superior Court, MARTINEZ was convicted of conspiracy to commit armed robbery, armed robbery, felony murder, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. The jury acquitted MARTINEZ of two other weapons offenses.

Ridgewood NJ,. the adult driver of an older model Toyota Highlander was transported by ambulance to The Valley Hospital following a two (2) vehicle, Tuesday evening, 03/14, collision at the intersection of Franklin Avenue and North Walnut Street, Ridgewood. Both vehicles were towed from the scene. Ridgewood firefighters attended to a crash related fluid spill and disconnected the batteries of both damaged SUVs. Ridgewood PD investigated the crash and Ridgewood Emergency Services personnel attended to the victim.

Hackensack NJ, Tuesday at 14:06hrs members of the City of Hackensack Fire Department First Platoon Engine 1, Engine 2, Rescue 1 and Deputy 1 responded to Route 80 Eastbound near mile marker 64.8 for a reported motor vehicle accident. Arriving units found a truck and passenger vehicle crashed with the truck resting on the divider. One passenger was transported by ambulance to Hackensack University Medical Center . Units remained on scene while the truck was lifted off the divider and removed as well as the passenger vehicle. New Jersey State Police were also on scene .
