Man Found Unconscious after Bee Stings in Ridgewood

UPDATE :Women’s Body Discovered in Leaf Pile Outside Ridgewood Home

Ridgewood NJ, a homeowner living in the 100 block of Union Street, Ridgewood, who stepped outside to put a garbage can on the curb late Wednesday night, 12/01, discovered a dead body in a large leaf pile in front of his home. Several Ridgewood Police units responded immediately along with Ridgewood’s Emergency Services to the homeowner’s 911 telephone call and confirmed the gruesome finding. A paramedic team from The Valley Hospital formally pronounced the individual dead on location. Ridgewood Police Chief Jacqueline Luthcke, who was at the scene, said that the deceased was “known to the police department,” and that no foul play was suspected. Members of the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office Bureau of Criminal Identification took photographs and inspected items found with the individual. Ridgewood Emergency Services personnel assisted with street closures and on-scene portable lighting.

Ridgewood NJ, according to  the Bergen Recorrd a co-founder of Ridgewood for Black Liberation and her attorney are calling for state, county and local officials to investigate the Ridgewood Police Department after she was arrested during an Independence Day march. Thria Margareth Bernabe, 22, was arrested Saturday while participating in a peaceful Black Lives Matter protest in Ridgewood, her hometown. She is scheduled to appear in Ridgewood municipal court July 23.

Ridgewood NJ, The exact origin of critical injuries sustained by an individual who was found lying on the street in front of 15 West Ridgewood Avenue, Ridgewood, remained under investigation by Ridgewood PD and the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office hours after the victim was found at 7:20 PM on Monday, 09/24. The individual, said to be a male, was rushed by ambulance to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson.

Ridgewood NJ, at Wednesday night’s Village Council meeting, the Village Council appointed three Municipal Humane Law Enforcement Officers . Carol Tyler, Kimberly Nagle and Kristen Gunderson, officers of Tyco Animal Control, were sworn in by Mayor Ramon Hache as Municipal Humane Law Enforcement Officers, upon the recommendation of Ridgewood Police Chief Jacqueline Luthcke .

Second Pedestrian Struck by a Vehicle in 24 Hours in Ridgewood

Ridgewood NJ, An 80 year old female Ridgewood resident was struck by a vehicle in the parking lot of the Kings Plaza Shopping Center, 112 North Maple Avenue, Ridgewood on Friday afternoon, 11/11. Ridgewood PD, FD, and EMS were dispatched to aid the victim. The driver of the vehicle involved remained on the scene and was cooperating with police. Ridgewood Police Chief Jacqueline Luthcke, who responded to the incident, reported that the victim refused to be transported to a hospital and left the scene in a private vehicle with a friend. There was no painted crosswalk in the area in which the victim was struck.

Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood Police Chief Jacqueline Luthcke read a story to, and answered questions for, children and parents who attended the Ridgewood Public Library’s “A Day in the Life of Police Chief” event on Thursday morning, 11/10 at the RIdgewood Public Library, 125 North Maple Avenue, Ridgewood. The “get your photo taken with the police chief” session that immediately followed questions and answers seemed to be more popular with children and parents than when Santa Claus visits the Village!
