Bergenfield Man Gets 16 Months in Revenge Porn Cyberstalking Scheme

Bergenfield NJ, a man was sentenced today to 16 months in prison for using Facebook and other online web forums to cyberstalk victims, Acting U.S. Attorney Rachael A. Honig announced.

Rino Diamante, 26, of Bergenfield, New Jersey, previously pleaded guilty by videoconference before U.S. District Judge William J. Martini to an information charging him with one count of cyberstalking. Judge Martini imposed the sentence today in Newark federal court.

July 23 will be the Last Opportunity for Bergen County Residents to Apply for the Rental and Utility Relief

Hackensack NJ, Bergen County is still encouraging residents to apply for the Bergen County Emergency Rental and Utility Assistance Program (ERAP), which started on June 14, 2021. The deadline for applications is Friday, July 23, 2021. . The program provides financial relief for Bergen County residents unable to meet their rental obligation during the COVID-19 pandemic. Eligible ERAP applicants can apply for up to 12 months of assistance to cover unpaid back rent and gas and electric utility expenses (payable for amounts past due as of March 13, 2020). Amounts approved for funding will be paid directly to property owners and utility providers.

Residents can apply for funding online at www.BergenCountyCARES.org. Thanks to a partnership with Greater Bergen Community Action, residents can also receive in-person help to apply for a program. Appointments must be made in advance by calling 201-464-8970.

Fort Lee NJ, with the July 4th holiday being observed on Monday July 5th , the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey urges travelers by air, rail and road to pack additional time and patience this July Fourth holiday weekend when more than 4.4 million passengers are expected to use its facilities as the summer travel season gets underway. To accommodate motorists traveling between New York and New Jersey, non-emergency repairs and construction projects at the agency’s crossings will be suspended from 5 a.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Tuesday, July 2 to 6.

“While I am not opposed to bonuses for those on the front lines who worked night and day oftentimes for 7 days a week through the pandemic I have real issue with an additional round of bonuses to politically connected Bergen County government workers getting a greater payout just in bonuses than many people made in total last year. Many times that my own office reached out to the County for answers or guidance we were told that we couldn’t get a reply as a result of the offices being “closed”. Why is a second round of these payments being made?”
