Hackensack NJ, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced today the charging of 22 individuals who orchestrated a Human Trafficking and Prostitution Organization in and around Bergen County. The arrests are the result of a four-month investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Robert Anzilotti.

NJ State Police Urges Residents to Prepare for Upcoming Winter Storm

Ridgewood  NJ, The New Jersey State Police is urging New Jersey residents to prepare for a nor’easter that will affect the entire state. From late Sunday night through Tuesday morning, most of New Jersey will be under a Winter Storm Warning.
The storm is expected to create hazardous travel conditions statewide, so if you do not need to travel, please stay home to allow crews to safely treat our roadways. If you must travel, here are some safety tips to follow:

Verizon Internet Outages Impact North Jersey

Ridgewood NJ, Verizon reported intermittent internet effecting  internet access  on the east coast . Verizon customers across huge parts of the East Coast experienced internet outages early Tuesday afternoon, and continued intermittently through  Thursday  with problems concentrated in major metropolitan areas. Close to 22,400 people reported trouble accessing their usual Verizon services at around 12 p.m. ET, according to data collected by Downdetector, which tracks and maps national outages.

Hackensack NJ, Bridget Kelly formally announced her candidacy for Bergen County clerk.

If the name sounds familiar Kelly, a Republican, was once a deputy chief of staff for Governor Chris Christie, and was convicted in 2016 along with Bill Baroni, deputy executive director of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, of fraud and civil rights violations for their roles in re-directing access lanes to the George Washington Bridge in Fort Lee in 2013 “creating a massive four-day traffic jam” as retribution against the town’s  Democratic mayor for refusing to endorse Christie’s re-election. Known as “Bridgegate” , it preceded the fall from grace of then governor Chris Christie .

Hackensack NJ, Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco gave a county wide COVID19 update as of 12pm Friday, January 8, 2021, there are 50,763 total presumptive positive cases identified in Bergen County as per the CDRSS system; impacting all 70 municipalities.** As of today, 40 Long Term Care (LTC) facilities in Bergen County report at least one active presumptive positive case as per NJDOH.
We have sadly lost 2,102 Bergen County residents and our County mourns their loss and offer condolences to their loved ones; we continue to grieve as a community for the precious lives lost.
