Twp. of Washington NJ, this reminder applies to most of Bergen County , over the past week, the Township has experienced above average rainfall and are currently experiencing high winds, our area is beginning to receive several reports of trees and branches down causing power outages.
Ridgewood NJ, in a press release PSE&G says they are prepared for the high winds, heavy rain and light snow forecast to begin after midnight through Sunday morning, particularly in northern areas of New Jersey. Sustained winds of 30 to 35 mph are expected with possible gusts up to 50 mph. These conditions may cause tree limbs to break and pull down wires, causing outages.

The Tropical Storm Watch has been upgraded to a Tropical Storm Warning for Northeast Suffolk, Northern New London, Northwest Suffolk, Southeast Suffolk, Southern Middlesex, Southern Nassau, Southern New Haven, Southern New London, and Southwest Suffolk .
Ridgewood NJ, the National Weather Service warns that isolated strong to severe thunderstorms are possible Wednesday afternoon and early evening, with damaging winds as the primary threat. This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for southern Connecticut, northeast New Jersey and southeast New York.

At 123 PM EDT, radar indicated strong thunderstorms were located
along a line extending from Highview to near Frenchtown. Movement was
northeast at 65 mph.
Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail are possible with these
storms.
Locations impacted include...
Wayne, New City, Newburgh, Middletown, West Milford, Ridgewood,
Peekskill, Monsey, Nanuet, Ramsey, Ringwood, Haverstraw, Pompton
Lakes, Suffern and Monroe.
These storms may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 600 PM EDT for

Ridgewood NJ, a tree toppled by high winds Thursday morning on Knollwood Road. Several homes in the area are without power. Property damage appears to have been confined to one (1) automobile. Ridgewood Police , Fire and Emergency Services on location. No injuries reported. The power outage seemed to be interfering with several, residents remote work routines .
Ridgewood NJ the National Weather Service has issued a “Winter Storm Watch” for Essex County, Bergen County , Passaic County , Rockland County, Westchester County and Fairfield County .
Wyckoff NJ, the Wyckoff Police Department reports that Wyckoff Avenue will be closed to all traffic between West main Street and Clinton Avenue. This is for a leaning utility pole. Please use caution in the area and follow the posted detour.
Glen Rock NJ, High winds take out a tree in Glen Rock. Glen Rock Police Patrol Officer Adam Pyatak responded to a reported downed tree in front of 17 Edgemont Road, Glen Rock on Thursday morning, 10/17. The Borough of Glen Rock owned tree smashed into two (2) homes, but injured no one. Officer Pyatak used a hand saw to remove several small tree branches to enable one of the homeowners to back a vehicle out of a garage. Electric power outages were reported by several nearby residents.
Ridgewood NJ, Very high winds toppled a large tree owned by the Village of Ridgewood located in the 600 block of Hillcrest Road, Ridgewood on Monday afternoon, 02/25. A single family home sustained structural and cosmetic damage when the tree crashed into the home’s front side. Ridgewood Police and Ridgewood Fire Department responded to the incident. No injuries were reported, but the Village’s Building Department deemed the structure uninhabitable until repairs are made. As of Monday evening, 02/25, the tree’s remains had not yet been removed from where it had fallen.
Glen Rock NJ, An intense, but brief, rain storm with high winds tore through Northwest Bergen County early Thursday evening, 05/03. Among the many reported downed trees and large tree limbs was this one, which landed on the roof of a single family home on Prospect Street in Glen Rock, Glen Rock Police and Fire Department personnel responded to investigate. The home was unoccupied when the limb fell and structural damage appeared to have been minimal.
Fair Lawn NJ, Personnel from Fair Lawn Fire Truck Company #1 and Fair Lawn FD Engine Company #3 assisted a family of Edward Street, Fair Lawn by retrieving a portable gazebo that had blown up onto the roof of their single family home during a Tuesday afternoon, 10/24 rain/wind storm, and become entangled in the structure’s chimney. No injuries were reported in the mishap and the chimney sustained cosmetic damage only. However, the portable gazebo appeared to have been destroyed.
Glen Rock NJ, High winds on Monday took their toll and toppled a tree in front of 51 Bedford Place, Glen Rock on Monday morning, 02/13. Glen Rock PD responded to assess damages and to cordon off the area. No injuries were reported and structural damage to two (2) homes nearby was minimal.
