It can take a long time to shut down a business properly. You’ll need to have an efficient closing plan that will not only offer the most protection possible to your personal assets and credit, but will also help you keep your reputation within the community. You might even be lucky enough to close down a company with retained earnings, depending on the value of the assets and earnings available. If the assets and earnings of the company that need to be distributed amongst the shareholders are less than £25,000, then it is possible for a business to apply for a strike-off application to dissolve the company.

Father and Son Team Sentenced to Prison for Defrauding Investors of Millions of Dollars

Park Ridge NJ, Attorney General Gurbir S. Grewal announced that a father and son were sentenced to prison today for defrauding investors in two successive multi-million dollar scams involving sales of bogus investments. After defrauding 26 investors in the first scam, the father and son agreed to pay $5.5 million, including $4 million in investor restitution, to settle a lawsuit filed by the New Jersey Bureau of Securities. They then proceeded to defraud 15 of the same investors of $3 million in a second scam.

FedEx Issues Warning on TEXT Message and Email Scam

Ridgewood NJ, FedEx is warning consumers of a new phone-based FedEx scam that targets users to steal their information, install malware on their device, or both. A text from an unknown number asks you to click the link in order to give instructions on delivering your FedEx package. With so many consumers shopping online now, it might not seem odd to receive such a text. The problem is the text did not come from FedEx. Scammers are simply trying to use the FedEx delivery text scam to get you to click the link and provide them with sensitive information.

The Chinese New Year, or Spring Festival, has more than 4,000 years of history and is the longest holiday of the year. In the 21st century, the national holiday begins on the first of the Lunar Calendar and lasts until the 15th of the first month. In 2020, Chinese New Year begins on January 25th and ends February 8th.

Montvale NJ, Montvale Mayor and Republican candidate for Congress in New Jersey’s 5th Congressional District, Mike Ghassali has raised $861,000 for his challenge to Rep. Josh Gottheimer.  Ghassali raised $560,000 in the 4th Quarter of 2019 and has $728,000 cash on hand.  For the 2nd straight quarter he out raised his nearest primary opponent by a more than 2-1 margin.

Lodi NJ, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrests of KENNETH REGAN (DOB:12/15/1998) of 139 Eastwood Boulevard, Centerreach, NY and DOUGLAS COUDREY (DOB: 11/18/1997) of 510 Montauk Highway, Eastport, NY on charges of Murder, Attempted Murder, and weapons offenses.  The arrests are the result of an investigation conducted by the New Jersey State Police under the direction of Superintendent Patrick J. Callahan and the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Robert Anzilotti.
