Six expert hurricane season preparedness tips for your business

For this blog about Hurricane Season preparedness, we thought it would make sense to get some business continuity tips from a real expert—a business owner who survived multiple disasters.
Three Brothers Bakery, a 69-year-old business owned by Janice and Robert Jucker, suffered losses of around $1 million after Hurricane Harvey devastated Houston last August. In 2008, the destruction caused by Hurricane Ike forced the couple to close the bakery for nine months. They lost $1 million after that storm.

Two Hospitalized After Hawthorne Crash

Hawthorne NJ, Two (2) vehicles collided at the intersection of Goffle Road and Warburton Avenue, Hawthorne early Tuesday evening, 09/11. Hawthorne Police, Hawthorne Fire Department, and Hawthorne EMS responded to aid at least two (2) individuals who were injured in the crash. One (1) accident victim, suspected of driving under the influence, was expected to be taken into custody by Hawthorne Police following his/her discharge from the hospital. Hawthorne Fire Department personnel assisted in extricating one (1) individual from a 4-door Volkswagen Jetta that sustained heavy front end damage, and attended to a crash related fluid spill. A flatbed tow truck removed both wrecks from the roadway.

Car Plunges into Creek of Goffle Road ,in Hawthorne

Hawthorne NJ, Hawthrone Fire Department personnel rescued an adult female who was trapped in her vehicle after it veered off of the roadway and crashed into a creek at the intersection of Goffle Road and Route 208 northbound, Hawthorne on Tuesday evening, 09/11. Hawthorne Police and Hawthorne EMS also responded to the incident, along with mutual aid fire departments from several neighboring communities. The victim sustained non life threatening injuries and was transported by a Hawthorne BLS ambulance to The Valley Hospital. A heavy duty wrecker winched the vehicle out of its predicament.

Glen Rock NJ, Tuesday, September 11, 2018, will be observed as a Day of Remembrance at the Glen Rock Memorial Site at Veterans’ Park, Main Street. Family, friends and community are invited to visit the Memorial Site throughout the day for personal reflection and prayer. At 6:30pm that evening, rain or shine, we will gather together as a community at the Memorial Site for a more formal observance which will be highlighted by song, prayer, lighting of candles and the reading of the names of our eleven Glen Rock residents whom we lost that day.

Fair Lawn NJ , The New Jersey State Police have arrested Wellingon Moya, 44, of New York, N.Y., and Douglas Watson, 41, of Hawthorne, N.J., and seized $375,000 worth of heroin and cocaine.

Friday Rollover Crash Temporary Closes Northbound Lanes on Route 17

Rochelle Park  NJ, A rollover crash involving a tractor trailer and a passenger vehicle resulted in the temporary closure of all northbound lanes on Route 17 at the Passaic Street exit in Rochelle Park on Friday morning, 09/07. At least one (1) person was reportedly ejected from the passenger car and transported by ambulance to Hackensack University Medical Center’s main campus.

Knife Wielding Man Sentenced to 44 Months in Prison for 2017 Bank Robbery in Fort Lee

Fort Lee Nj,  A Bronx, New York, man was sentenced today to 44 months in prison for robbing a bank in Fort Lee, New Jersey, at knifepoint in January 2017, U.S. Attorney Craig Carpenito announced.
Andres Dominguez, 39, previously pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge William H. Walls to an information charging him with one count of bank robbery. Judge Walls imposed sentence today in Newark federal court. Dominguez was originally arrested on Jan. 13, 2017.
