What New Jersey Residents Need to Do if COVID-19 Becomes a Seasonal Illness

Pandemic vs Epidemicin post

Introduction to the Global Pandemic

The new Coronavirus has created a global pandemic, making hundreds of thousands of people sick and taking a toll mercilessly. Believed to have originated in the Chinese city of Wuhan, this virus, medical experts say can return seasonally, just like the common flu.

With vaccine trials still underway, we do not precisely know when it will be ready for deployment. As scientists suggest, a vaccine might be ready in another 12-18 months and that is way too far! So, should the coronavirus return, countries should be ready to deal with it effectively.

Korean CDC reported individuals who have recovered from COVID19 can no longer infect others

Soul Korea, The Korean Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (Korean CDC) reported findings from a study of recovered COVID-19 patients who tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 after their recovery. The study aimed to determine whether the positive test results after recovery—as long as 37 days after discharge from isolation—were artifacts of testing or due to reinfection or reactivation of the virus. The study concluded that the re-positive test results were not due to reinfection or reactivation, but rather, were a result of the PCR diagnostic tests detecting non-viable viral particles as the infection is slowly cleared from the body. These results indicate that individuals who have recovered from acute illness can no longer infect others. As such, the Korean CDC updated its guidance regarding the management of “re-positive cases,” including the removal of a mandatory 14-day self isolation period after being discharged from isolation and the requirement for subsequent PCR testing if symptoms present after a patient is discharged from isolation.

Attorney Says,” there is no longer any justification for denying people their Constitutional rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. It’s time to #ReopenNJ “

I have been getting calls from small business owners all over the State of New Jersey who have been contacted by police enforcing Governor Murphy’s “Stay At Home” Executive Orders regarding COVID-19, and have otherwise been financially devastated. These Orders were initially handed down 2 months ago by Governor Murphy for the alleged purpose of “flattening the curve,” in other words, preventing hospitals and health care services from being overwhelmed by everyone getting the virus all at once. That mission has since been accomplished because we all worked together in good faith to make it happen. Now, Gov. Murphy has moved the goalpost to “finding a vaccine.”
In my opinion, as an attorney and business owner, there is no longer any justification for denying people their Constitutional rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. It’s time to #ReopenNJ and let people feed their families again.

Murphy Administration Manipulates Long Term Care COVID-19 death totals

the staff of the Ridgewood blog

River Vale NJ, Assemblywomen Holly Schepisi  comments on the Murphy Administration manipulation of Long Term Care COVID-19 death totals. According to Schepisi ,”1400 deaths have been removed by the State of N.J. between yesterday and today from the total number of COVID deaths from our Long Term Care Facilities because although the deaths appeared to be COVID caused deaths they were never lab confirmed by the facilities.
But even worse, the State is continuing to count these deaths in the overall State total! Today’s total death count was just reported as 10,586 deaths with 162 new deaths. Yesterday’s total death count was 10,435 deaths with 75 new deaths. Friday’s death count was 10,138 deaths. How do we continue to have 10,586 total deaths if we have subtracted out 1400 in the past 24 hours? If DATA DETERMINES DATES the data better make sense.”

Moderna, Inc., issues encouraging preliminary results from its Phase 1 COVID19 vaccine trial

Washington DC, Last week, US President Donald Trump provided additional details on Operation Warp Speed, the US plan to rapidly develop, test, and manufacture a SARS-CoV-2 vaccine. The program will involve senior experts and leadership from both the US Department of Health and Human Services and the Department of Defense, and it aims to develop, test, and scale up production for a SARS-CoV-2 vaccine in order to make millions of doses available by early 2021. This would be a monumental effort and would considerably accelerate the process for any previous vaccine by months or years. One of the project leaders, Dr. Moncef Slaoui, commented that he had recently seen encouraging preliminary data from early clinical trials of a vaccine candidate. This morning, Moderna, Inc., issued a press release describing encouraging preliminary results from its Phase 1 vaccine trial. While Phase 1 trials are designed to evaluate safety of the vaccine in humans, Moderna noted that early data (based on only 8 participants) are promising that the vaccine could induce the development of protective antibodies. More data is required to better characterize the body’s immune response, particularly with respect to the effect on conferring immunity to SARS-CoV-2.

WASHINGTOn DC, The Chinese government through its propaganda organ the Global Times threatened Congressman Chris Smith of New Jersey and a handful of American lawmakers and officials seeking to legally empower victims of the COVID-19 pandemic to bring lawsuits in U.S. courts against the Chinese government.

The Global Times wrote on May 14, “China is extremely dissatisfied with the abuse of litigation by the US against China over the COVID-19 epidemic, and is considering punitive countermeasures against US individuals, entities and state officials.  China won’t just strike back symbolically but will impose countermeasures that will make them feel the pain, analysts said.”

WISCONSIN SUPREME COURT OVERTURNS “SAFER AT HOME” ORDER

liberate NJ

the staff of the Ridgewood blog

Madison Wi, The Wisconsin Supreme Court (US) ruled yesterday that the state’s “safer at home” order, issued by Secretary of the Department of Health Services Andrea Palm, was issued outside the scope of her authority. The decision largely nullified the order with immediate effect, which permitted businesses to reopen and removed prohibitions on large gatherings. The court allowed existing restrictions that closed schools to remain as well as language permitting local governments to implement their own restrictions. Following the decision, some restaurants and bars reopened, some of which did not appear to impose any social distancing or other protective measures. Some local governments are reportedly developing and implementing their own restrictions, but they will likely result in inconsistencies across the state. Any future efforts by the governor or appointed state officials to implement COVID-19 policies will be required to utilize the normal process, which involves the state legislature and could take weeks or longer to pass.
