Fair Lawn NJ, late Thursday evening, July 11, a tragic road rage incident on Berdan Avenue in Fair Lawn escalated into violence when an elderly male passenger from one of the involved vehicles exited to speak to the other driver and was allegedly run over intentionally. The victim sustained serious injuries and was rushed by ambulance to Hackensack University Medical Center’s main campus. Fair Lawn EMS, assisted by a paramedic team from The Valley Hospital, provided emergency medical care on the scene.

Fair Lawn NJ, three (3) occupants of a Ford Edge escaped injury late Saturday afternoon, 06/15, when their vehicle crashed through a fence and into a tree while attempting to park in the lot of an IHOP restaurant located on Broadway in Fair Lawn. A flatbed tow truck removed the vehicle from its predicament. Fair Lawn Police responded to investigate the crash.

Fair Lawn NJ, a minor Friday morning, 06/14, hit-and-run crash on Route 80 westbound in Saddle Brook involving a Honda Accord and a Dodge Ram pick up truck, lead to a more serious crash in Fair Lawn, followed by a high speed pursuit shortly thereafter through Fair Lawn, Paterson, and Hawthorne. The adult female driver of the Honda Accord was taken into custody after she fled from the Morlot Avenue, Fair Lawn crash site at high speed, and would not yield to pursuing police officers until they trapped her vehicle in a private driveway on Heights Avenue in Fair Lawn.

Fair Lawn NJ, a utility pole mounted electric transformer explosion and resultant fire on the Maple Avenue bridge between Fair Lawn and Paterson triggered full closure of the bridge to vehicular traffic for hours on Wednesday, 05/08. No injuries were reported. Information was unavailable at the scene as to whether any vehicles were struck by falling debris from the affected utility pole. The transformer itself appeared to have fallen into the Passaic River. Fair Lawn Police and Paterson Police provided traffic control during the incident. Paterson Fire Department Engine Company #5 assisted PSE&G Electric Division crews with fire suppression.

Glen Rock Police handled the accident investigation while Fair Lawn Police provided traffic control. A flatbed tow truck removed the BMW from the scene.

Fair Lawn NJ, PSE&G’s Electric Division was summoned to the scene of a Sunday morning, 04/28, single vehicle crash on Maple Avenue in Fair Lawn involving a utility pole. The driver of a 4-door Acura Sedan was transported by a Fair Lawn EMS ambulance to Hackensack University Center’s main campus shortly after the collision occurred. The victim’s injuries were reported to be non-life-threatening in nature. Fair Lawn Police conducted the crash investigation. The wrecked Acura was removed from the scene by a tow truck.
