Restaurant Assault Leads to Arrest in Fair Lawn

Fair Lawn NJ, an adult female wanted in connection with a Thursday evening, 05/18, stabbing was quickly apprehended by uniformed Fair Lawn police officers less than 1/2 mile away from the crime scene. The alleged 7:45 PM assault took place at the Craftsman Restaurant, 16-09 Maple Avenue, Fair Lawn. A Fair Lawn EMS ambulance transported the adult male victim, whose wounds appeared to have been non life threatening in nature, to Hackensack University Medical Center’s main campus.

Fair Lawn NJ, on the Fourth of May in honor of “Star Wars Day ” the Fair lawn Police Department received JEDI training . A Jedi Knight is a member of the Jedi Order who has completed their training and has been officially recognized as a full-fledged Jedi. Jedi Knights are known for their proficiency in lightsaber combat and mastery of the Force, a mystical energy field that permeates the universe and can be manipulated by skilled practitioners.

Church Hit in Late Night Crash in Fair Lawn

Fair Lawn NJ, a 2-door Honda Accord slammed into a church located at 22-15 Broadway (westbound Broadway), Fair Lawn late Friday night, 05/05. The vehicle’s adult driver was treated at the scene by a Fair Lawn EMS crew and released at the scene. No apparent structural damage to the church was noted. However, one (1) or more traffic control barriers filled with dirt were damaged in the crash and dirt splattered all over the church’s front facing facade. A flatbed tow truck removed the totaled Honda from the scene.

Child Dropped off at the Wrong Daycare Center Caused a Stir in Fair Lawn

Fair Lawn NJ, the Fair Lawn Police Department uniformed Patrol Division responded to a day care center located in the 10-00 block of Plaza Road, Fair Lawn on Wednesday morning, 05/03, in response to a telephone call from a staff member there reporting that a child unknown to anyone on the facility’s staff had been dropped off by an individual claiming to be a babysitter. Detectives were subsequently dispatched to the location to assist patrol officers with identifying the child and his/her parents. The child was successfully identified within one (1) hour, and an investigation determined that he/she was supposed to have been dropped off at a day care facility in the 19-00 block of Morlott Avenue, Fair Lawn (about 1 block away). Child and parents were reunited without incident about 90 minutes after the original call for police assistance was made.

CRUZ (DOB: 01/12/1983; single; unemployed) of 3907 Northern Drive, Fair Lawn, NJ on drug distribution charges.  The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love.

Porsche Destroyed in Car Fire at the Bottom of the Exit Ramp from 208 South in Fair Lawn

Fair Lawn NJ, at 6:39 AM Saturday morning, Fair Lawn Fire Engine Companies 3 and 4 were dispatched to a car fire at the bottom of the exit ramp from 208 south and Plaza Road. Fair Lawn Battalion Chief Mike Salvini reported that there was a fully involved car fire. The members of Engine 3 and 4 quickly put out the fire. There were no injuries, but the car, a 1987 Porsche 928, was a total loss. All Fair Lawn units cleared the scene by 7:30 AM.

Fair Lawn NJ, implosion of the former Nabisco property that was scheduled for April 15 has been postponed due to permit delay, officials said.

Implosion of the Fair Lawn Nabisco tower will force the evacuation of a few area homes in the adjacent and close Glen Rock schools has been postponed to an undetermined date, officials said Wednesday.

Fair Lawn NJ, Firefighters quickly extinguished a Wednesday morning, 04/05, fire that started on the second floor of a home on Ruskin Road in Fair Lawn. No injuries were reported in the incident. The single family home was unoccupied when police and firefighters arrived on the scene. An investigation is underway to determine what started the smokey blaze. Also on scene Fair Lawn Fire Department , Fair Lawn Fire Company #4 , Fair Lawn Rescue Squad , Fair Lawn Volunteer Ambulance Corps , Fair Lawn Fire Company #3 , Fair Lawn Fire Company 2 , Fair Lawn Police Department .

Fair Lawn Fire Department Makes Quick Work of a Chimney Fire

Fair Lawn NJ, at 2:54 AM Sunday the Fair Lawn Fire Department was dispatched to a reported chimney fire on the 12 block of Saddle River Road. Upon arrival, Fair Lawn Fire Chief Jake Mamo reported smoke showing from the structure in what appeared to be a chimney fire that had extended into the walls of the first floor. A general alarm was transmitted. The fire was quickly extinguished and the fire companies opened up the walls to look for extension. Fair Lawn Rescue, Fair Lawn Volunteer Ambulance Corp, and the Fair Lawn Police Department also assisted on the scene. Mutual aid companies from Elmwood Park and Saddle Broom were stationed in Fair Lawn to handle any other calls. All fire units were cleared from the scene by 5:33 AM. There were no injuries to the residents or to firefighters.

Fair Lawn NJ, according to Fair Lawn Police, there has been an uptick in Facebook scams. A post is created in Facebook marketplace and/or a regular post in which they will show they are selling something. It may even show they are from the town so it looks really trustworthy. The scammer will ask for a deposit via Venmo/cashapp/zelle etc. give an address and your next trip will be to the police station to make a fraud report.
