Glen Rock NJ, Glen Rock police offer some safe winter driving tips:
-Give yourself extra time to reach your destination. Roads could be slippery, and therefore drivers could be driving below the speed limit for safety. DO NOT SPEED.
-Clean off all snow and ice on your entire vehicle before you start driving to keep it from flying off your vehicle and obscuring yours and other drivers visibility.
-Drive with your seat belt fastened and car seats properly secured.
-Pack an emergency kit that includes jumper cables, flares, sand/salt, cell phone charger, ice scraper, flashlight, blankets, etc.
-Turn on your vehicle’s headlights before heading out on the road. Also make sure to always use your turn signals.
-Allow more room between you and the vehicle in front of you.
