Paramus NJ, Zinburger is closing the vast majority of its East Coast locations permanently, citing the coronavirus for hurting sales.The Briad Group, which has been building Zinburger locations up and down the East Coast for the past decade, has closed 15 of the 18 units it operates.

Northbound Paramus Road Closed After Truck Strikes Overhead Wires in Paramus

Paramus NJ, A segment of northbound Paramus Road, Paramus was temporarily closed on Friday morning, 06/19, after a flatbed truck carrying building materials struck a large overhead telephone trunk line cable and knocked it to the ground. Paramus Police and Paramus Fire Engine Company #3 responded to the incident. No injuries were reported and the truck appeared to have sustained no damage.

Malls to Reopen by Month’s End

Paramus NJ, Indoor portions of retail shopping malls will be allowed to reopen on June 29th, Governor Phil Murphy announced on Thursday.“Keep your distance, wear a face covering, and follow pedestrian directions,” Murphy urged. “Let’s keep this restart going, and going safely.”

Face masks, in fact, will be required as part of the order. Businesses within the mall will be limited to 50% capacity. Employees will be required to wear masks.

Common areas like food courts and mall movie theaters will remain closed.

Paramus NJ, Non-essential retail is set to reopen as part of Stage 2 of New Jersey’s restart on June 15, but shopping malls like Westfield Garden State Plaza  the largest operational mall in the state.
which accounts for roughly 10% of the Paramus tax base are not included. Over 20 million people visit Westfield Garden State Plaza in a typical year.

Paramus Police Report Numerous thefts from vehicles during the Overnight hours

Paramus NJ, Paramus Police report they have been experiencing numerous thefts from vehicles during the overnight hours in the neighborhoods East and West of Forest Ave between Midland Ave and Ridgewood Ave. Most of the incidents are occurring between 2:00 am hours and 6:30 am. In most of the reported incidents there is one subject observed wearing all dark clothing, with his/her face covered, carrying a satchel across his body and possibly black Nike sneakers with white accent. NJMVC Announces Plans to Reopen in Stages

Today, our district became aware that racially and sexually offensive postings were circulated over social media by several of our students in response to the events occurring throughout the country following the tragedy in Minnesota. The Paramus Board of Education, the administration, staff, student body, community, and many others outside of Paramus are justifiably outraged by these racially and sexually charged messages.

Paramus NJ, announced that it has filed a motion seeking Bankruptcy Court approval to begin an orderly wind-down of the Company’s retail operations as soon as reasonably possible after store locations are able to reopen following the government-mandated closures during the COVID-19 pandemic. As part of the wind-down, the Company intends to sell its inventory and remaining assets, including its intellectual property and e-commerce business, through the court-supervised process.

Expanded Access to Testing at Bergen Community College and PNC Bank Arts Center

Paramus NJ,New Jersey’s Community Based Testing Sites located at Bergen Community College and PNC Bank Arts Center will expand access to testing for COVID-19. The two testing locations, established in partnership with the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, will be open to asymptomatic New Jersey residents. In addition to continued testing for symptomatic residents, testing will be prioritized for asymptomatic health care workers and first responders, personnel in congregate living settings, and New Jersey residents who have been in close contact with an individual who has tested positive for COVID-19.

Paramus NJ, The membership of the Veterans of Foreign Wars is closely monitoring the COVID 19 situation at the Paramus and Menlo Park Memorial Homes and its effects on the veterans, spouses and Gold Star families residing in the homes. We all mourn the deaths and promise to every family member that we will use every resource available to ensure adequate staffing, funding, and procedures to care for those ill and prevent future infections. The residents of these homes defended and fought for our Nation, and now it is our turn to defend and fight for them.

Southbound Parkway Crash in Paramus Sends One Victim to the Hospital

Paramus NJ, The driver of a Subaru Outback sustained minor injuries during a rollover crash on the Garden State Parkway southbound in Paramus on Wednesday afternoon, 05/06. Paramus Police, Paramus EMS, Paramus Fire Engine Companies #1 and #3, NJSP Bloomfield Barracks, Washington Township Police, and a paramedic team from The Valley Hospital responded to the incident. The victim was transported by ambulance to a local hospital. A flatbed tow truck righted and removed the wrecked Subaru from the roadway.
