The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit under the direction of Chief Jason Love, and the Ramsey Police Department under the direction of Chief Brian Lyman.

Slippery Road Conditions Leaves Ramsey emergency services working side by side!

Ramsey NJ, on January 15th , Ramsey Rescue, Ramsey Fire and Ramsey EMS were dispatched to a Motor Vehicle Rollover with possible entrapment. A vehicle left the roadway and rolled over entrapping the driver. Rescue’s crews quickly freed the driver and transferred care to EMS personnel who transported the patient to the hospital.

Ramsey NJ, on January 5th ,Ramsey Fire Department crews were dispatched to multiple brush fires across the borough off Franklin Turnpike in the woods behind various businesses. The fires were rapidly extinguished and brought under control by joint teams from Ramsey Fire & Rescue. The cause of the fires are under investigation by Ramsey Police and the Ramsey Fire Official. Remember to always use care when disposing of fire place ashes, and smoking materials.

Ramsey NJ, Ramsey Rescue names Ranya Makkawi 2023 Volunteer of the Year. Ranya joined Ramsey Rescue and has immediately made an immeasurable impact on the squad. Both to our operations in the field and administratively – she delivers excellence. Ranya recently completed the Firefighter One day program, at the top of her class , an extremely accelerated learning program. She even just stated Fire 2! She is the first to lend a helping hand, taking shifts and finding projects to make a difference. Ranya serves as Ramsey Rescue corporate secretary, and has stepped up to the plate to help with a number of jobs outside of her daily responsibilities .

Ramsey NJ, Ramsey Firefighter Kerry Conklin has been chosen as the “Icon of the Year” from the Ramsey Junior Womans Club for 2023. Kerry has been a member since 2009 and now serves as one of our Lieutenants. Kerry is a life member of the New Jersey State Firefighters Association. She also received the “Volunteer of the Year” award from the Mayor and Council in 2011. Kerry also serves on the Public Education Committee working with Fire Prevention providing valuable educational material about fire safety and prevention to the schools.
