Twp of Washington NJ, Tuesday night an alleged gas leak near the Lukoil gas station at 290 Pascack Rd, Township Of Washington, sent Township police and Firefighters to the scene ,temporarily blocking Pascack road and the entrance to the Fresh Grocers Supermarket .
Twp of Washington NJ, A single non-life threatening injury was reported following a Tuesday morning, 01/19, rollover crash in the 600 block of Mariann Place, Washington Township. Washington Township Police, Washington Township Fire, and Washington Township EMS responded to the incident. A flatbed tow truck righted the vehicle and removed it from the scene.
Twp of Washington NJ, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of MICHAEL D. ROSEN (DOB: 3/23/1988; single; unemployed) of 5 Sutton Way, Township of Washington, NJ on charges of Possession Of Child Pornography, Possession Of Controlled Dangerous Substances, and Distribution Of Controlled Dangerous Substances. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Robert Anzilotti and the Township of Washington Police Department under the direction of Chief Richard Skinner.
Twp. of Washington NJ, Twp of Washington Police report at approximately 4:00 AM on the morning of December 6, 2020, a vehicle was stolen from the driveway of a house on Willow Street in Washington Township, New Jersey. Two other vehicles in the surrounding area were also entered. A video shows two males exiting a small black SUV and entering a vehicle parked in a driveway on Willow Street. The stolen vehicle was later located and recovered in East Orange, New Jersey. It should be noted, the stolen vehicle was unlocked and the key fob was inside the vehicle when it was stolen. The other vehicles that were entered were also unlocked. The Township of Washington Police Department would like to remind and encourage all residents to lock their vehicles and do not leave the key fobs or any other valuables in unattended vehicles.

Twp of Washington NJ, Twp of Washington continues to deal with a raise in COVID cases. The Township staff are currently working remotely after a member of the administrative staff who has limited interaction with the rest of the staff has tested positive for Covid-19. As a result, that employee will be self-quarantined and will have to follow all CDC and Health Department guidelines before returning to work in approximately two weeks. All employees have been notified, and the building had its regularly scheduled weekly full sanitation on November 8, 2020. Out of an abundance of caution, the Town Hall Staff will all work remotely for the week of November 9, 2020.

At no time were any residents or businesses in town exposed through this incident. The time between the exposure and the closure of the fire house the department did not respond to any calls. Notifications would have been made had there been. This was done as an extreme precaution. At no time was the entire department on quarantine.”
Twp. of Washington NJ, 2020 LEAF COLLECTION BEGINS NOVEMBER 2, 2020 – Under New Jersey’s Recycling Law, leaves must be composted. The Township’s composting facility will only accept bulk leaves, free of debris and branches. Residents are requested to place leaves at the curb for collection by the Township’s equipment in accordance with the ZONES and DATES listed on the DPW’s webpage. CREWS WILL WORK FROM WEST TO EAST IN EACH ZONE. A second pass of each zone shall start after the completion of the first collection. As you are likely aware, COVID-19 cases have increased across the state over the past several weeks. While we have made significant progress containing the spread of the virus, it is essential to remain vigilant and not slide backward with our efforts.
Twp. of Washington NJ, health officials are actively investigating close to 20 new COVID-19 cases in the Township of Washington, and close to 30 new cases in the Borough of Westwood, since 9/30/20. Currently, health officials are monitoring a total of 8 cases identified in the school community. Health officials have multiple cohorts in quarantine and investigations are still underway, which could potentially expand the list of quarantined individuals.
