Twp. of Washington NJ, starting on Monday 4/24 at 8am and continuing overnight into Tuesday, expect MAJOR delays and detours on all approaches leading to the intersection of Washington Avenue and Pascack Road due to water main work being conducted by Veolia.
Twp. of Washington NJ, Veolia (Formally Suez) will be conducting work on the watermain on Pascack Road and in the intersection of Washington Avenue & Pascack Road on Monday April 17th, Wednesday April 19th and on Monday April 24th. Details about what is to be expected each day are listed below. Pictured to the right of this message, is a Water Bypass installed on a Fire Hydrant. Residents may see these devices in use. They are in place to maintain water service to area residences. Also pictured is a diagram of the Washington Avenue & Pascack Road intersection to better depict the change in traffic pattern.

Twp. of Washington NJ, Cpl. Vincent Santa of the Washington Twp Police Department had the honor of facilitating a blood drive for one of our community heroes today, Shane McCooe who is battling cancer. Through this amazing donation process kids like Shane and others in need of blood transfusions will get the blood they need to help battle their illnesses. Shane is a huge football fan, specifically the Giants and was presented with signed memorabilia from Phil Simms, Saquon Barkley and Blake Costanzo along with gifts from our local PBA 206. Shane is the definition of a warrior at just seven years old and spreads joy just by being in his presence. Big thank you to Vitalant Blood Donations and PBA 206.

Twp. of Washington NJ, Township officials expect to get the word on traffic study by the end of March for a strip mall proposed for the extremely busy intersection of Pascack Road and Washington Avenue. The new traffic study is expected to be ready on March 21st.
Twp. of Washington NJ, during the overnight hours from Thursday 2/23/23 at 8:00pm until 6:00am Friday Morning 2/24/23, PSE&G will be working in the middle of the intersection of Washington Avenue and Pascack Road replacing a Gas Valve. Major closures and delays are to be expected during these hours.
Twp. of Washington NJ, Washington Township Police Department on Wednesday announced , “It is with great sadness the Washington Township Police Department announces the passing of Retired Detective Heather Castronova. Det. Castronova passed suddenly in the overnight hours due to unknown medical circumstances. Det. Castronova served with the United States Marine Corps.,and following her service to the country she was hired as a Dispatcher for the Bergen County Police Department, and then as a Police Officer in Washington Township. She retired in 2020 from her career in Law Enforcement. Her roles in the Washington Police Department included Patrol, Detective Bureau and Community Policing. Her favorite role was working with children and the community of Washington Township.”

Twp of Washington NJ, the Township of Washington Police Department is urging all residents to protect themselves from catalytic converter thefts! Over the past several weeks our town has had multiple incidents regarding individuals cutting off catalytic converters from vehicles very quickly during the overnight hours. All of the vehicles in our town that had the catalytic converters cut off have been Hondas. Please see the link below with helpful tips on how to protect yourself as best as possible. Lane and/or road closures are subject to change every few hours as the work moves from one corner to the next. Work will be conducted from the hours of 7:00am until approximately 4:00pm.
