Twp. of Washington NJ, Township officials expect to get the word on traffic study by the end of March for a strip mall proposed for the extremely busy intersection of Pascack Road and Washington Avenue. The new traffic study is expected to be ready on March 21st.
Twp. of Washington NJ, during the overnight hours from Thursday 2/23/23 at 8:00pm until 6:00am Friday Morning 2/24/23, PSE&G will be working in the middle of the intersection of Washington Avenue and Pascack Road replacing a Gas Valve. Major closures and delays are to be expected during these hours.
Twp. of Washington NJ, Washington Township Police Department on Wednesday announced , “It is with great sadness the Washington Township Police Department announces the passing of Retired Detective Heather Castronova. Det. Castronova passed suddenly in the overnight hours due to unknown medical circumstances. Det. Castronova served with the United States Marine Corps.,and following her service to the country she was hired as a Dispatcher for the Bergen County Police Department, and then as a Police Officer in Washington Township. She retired in 2020 from her career in Law Enforcement. Her roles in the Washington Police Department included Patrol, Detective Bureau and Community Policing. Her favorite role was working with children and the community of Washington Township.”

Twp of Washington NJ, the Township of Washington Police Department is urging all residents to protect themselves from catalytic converter thefts! Over the past several weeks our town has had multiple incidents regarding individuals cutting off catalytic converters from vehicles very quickly during the overnight hours. All of the vehicles in our town that had the catalytic converters cut off have been Hondas. Please see the link below with helpful tips on how to protect yourself as best as possible. Twp.of Washington NJ, on Monday 1/30, Tuesday 1/31 and Wednesday 2/1 construction crews will be conducting work, installing the new traffic signals at the intersection of Washington Avenue and Pascack Road. Lane and/or road closures are subject to change every few hours as the work moves from one corner to the next. Work will be conducted from the hours of 7:00am until approximately 4:00pm. Twp. of Washington NJ, recently a resident on our East Side of town had their catalytic converter stolen off their vehicle. According to the Washington Township Police Department ,”It is, and has been, and continues to be a statewide problem.”

Twp of Washington NJ, as part of the town’s continuing efforts to address storm-water issues, starting Friday, December 2, 2022 Boswell Engineering will be starting to collect data using a flying drone along the southern limit of the Musquapsink Brook. The drone flights will start near Sherry Field and work up towards Ridgewood Rd. starting at approximately 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM.
Twp of Washington NJ, the Washington Township Police Department wants to alert residents that there’s been a recent uptick in residential burglaries. Recently there has been two residential burglary’s on our East Side of town. In both cases, the point of entry was made by entering/breaking into the rear doors of the homes. Both homes were entered at random times and were unoccupied. The Washington Township Police Department is investigating both of these burglaries.
