Ridgewood Firefighters Swiftly Knock Down Wednesday Late Night Fire

Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood firefighters swiftly knocked down a late Wednesday night, 05/08, blaze that began in the back yard of a single family house on Allen Place, and quickly spread to the home’s exterior. All occupants of the home had safely evacuated prior to the arrival of firefighters. Ridgewood Police officers had extinguished most of the yard conflagration prior to the first Fire Department units arriving at the scene. Ridgewood Emergency Services personnel assisted with traffic control. No injuries were reported in the incident.

Murphy Administration Announces Free Digital Mental Health Services for New Jersey College Students

Montclair NJ,  during Mental Health Awareness Month, Lieutenant Governor Tahesha Way and Secretary of Higher Education Brian K. Bridges, Ph.D., announced New Jersey college students will have free, 24/7/365 access to teletherapy, crisis connection and wellness programming through the remainder of the Murphy Administration. Launched one year ago, the state’s first-in-the-nation partnership with mental health and wellness platform, Uwill, currently serves students at 45 eligible institutions of higher education in New Jersey who opted into the partnership.

Clear-Cutting Catastrophe: Unveiling the Hidden Dangers of Deforestation

There has been much talk about “non-native” trees at Schedler, and this description is being used as justification for clear-cutting what is currently a beautiful woodsy area.  These trees, many of which are very tall and well-established, are producing oxygen, absorbing pollutants from the highway, reducing the amount of standing water, providing shelter for birds and animals, decreasing noise pollution for residents in the area, and are just living their lives.   The “non-native” excuse is just ridiculous – it is a sorry rationalization for a terrible plan.
