81% of American Adults plan to get together with family and friends for Thanksgiving

Ridgewood NJ, Most Americans will spend this Thanksgiving Day at home with family and friends.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 81% of American Adults plan to get together with family and friends this Thanksgiving, up slightly from last year.  Only 27% plan to travel away from home for the holiday, unchanged from a year ago. Driver Walks Home After Rollerover Crash in Ridgewood

Ridgewood NJ, a Tuesday night, 11/22, single vehicle rollover crash in Ridgewood may have been caused by the vehicle’s driver falling asleep at the wheel. The 4-door Toyota Camry rolled on its side after striking a tree located in the 400 block of Berkshire Road, Ridgewood. After being evaluated on scene by Ridgewood Emergency Services EMTs, the driver refused medical aid and walked to his home, which was just a few hundred feet away from the crash site. A hydraulic lift tow truck righted the vehicle and removed it from the scene. Ridgewood Police and Ridgewood Fire Department units also responded to the incident. Police at the scene did not indicate whether any summonses would be issued in connection with the mishap.

Ridgewood Police Interrupt Deer Date

Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood Police Patrol Officer Michael Karcher was dispatched to the Hopper Ridge Condominium property at approximately Noon on Tuesday, 11/22, in response to a resident’s telephone call reporting a doe trapped in a retention pond area. Assisted by an employee of Tyco Animal Control, Officer Karcher determined that the doe was not trapped, but was hiding in the area due to the presence of a large buck nearby. The doe was able to successfully escape from the area shortly thereafter, with the buck in chase.

Ridgewood Firefighters Free Driver from Car After Crash Near Glen School

Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood Police issued one (1) summons in connection with a Monday afternoon, 11/21, two (2) vehicle collision at the intersection of East Glen Avenue and Van Emburgh Avenue, Ridgewood, in which the driver of a 4-door Toyota Camry sedan involved in the crash had to be extricated from her vehicle by Ridgewood firefighters. The victim was transported by ambulance to Hackensack University Medical Center’s main campus with non life threatening injuries. A flatbed tow truck removed the damaged Camry from the scene by a flatbed tow truck. Washington Township Police assisted with traffic control.
