Ridgewood NJ, newly elected Ridgewood Board of Education member Saurabh Dani has announced that he will no longer be group administrator for Ridgewood Moms and Dads With Free Speech and It Takes a Ridgewood Village. The announcement was made in both Facebook groups on Saturday June 6th .
Ridgewood NJ, Due to the Governor’s Executive Order 104 citing the CDC’s recommendation for cancellation or postponement of gatherings of fifty or more people, the Regular meeting will be held utilizing videoconferencing.
Ridgewood NJ, the Ridgewood Village Council agrees to cut $630,000 from the defeated Ridgewood Board of Education budget .Councilwomen Bernie Walsh commented that the curriculum and programs would not be impacted or result in any layoffs . She suggested the BOE put out a list of line items of what was actually cut . Deputy Mayor Knudsen stressed no impact on programs or quality of education and called it a win/win.
Mayor Ramon Hache said state school aid would be cut $447,000 ,and according to Deputy Mayor Knudsen was actually less than anticipated and factored in .
This means overall about $1.1M cut to the school budget. Murphy announced a cut of about $447,000 last week, in state aid. The Council resolution stated last night that as per school administration, this will not affect any programming.
The council approved the cut in a 4 to 1 with Councilmen Voigt as the lone dissenter.
Ridgewood NJ, The New Jersey Department of Education (DOE) today released guidance regarding commencement ceremonies to honor 2020 graduates during the COVID-19 public health emergency.
The guidance outlines three options for K-12 school commencement ceremonies: 1) virtual; 2) drive-through/drive-in; or 3) modified in-person, outdoor ceremonies. Decisions about the most appropriate type of ceremony for each school community will be made locally, in consultation with municipal officials. At this time, only virtual ceremonies are permitted. Beginning July 6, 2020, drive-through/drive-in and modified in-person, outdoor ceremonies will be permitted subject to the requirements set forth in the guidance. These ceremonies must comply with the social distancing protocols and the limitations on in-person gatherings that are in place when the ceremonies are held.
“Morgan and Brogan should pay this legal fee. They acted illegally. They were told to stop. They kept right on with their despicable behavior. They’ve been told to stop AGAIN. And now they are pouting and refusing to pay. What the fuck. Are we in grade school? Pay the damn fee you two. Do this one thing right, would you????”

I read with interest your reply, and while your volunteer service is to be commended and appreciated, I believe, that based on your own words, you simply do not understand the purpose or value of the state’s Open Meeting Laws, why they even exist and to be frank you seem to thumb your nose at them.
In addition, your representation of the DANI lawsuit is factually incorrect, perhaps understandably influenced because Mr. Dani, regularly exerts his legal rights to speak and address questions to the board at public meetings, that you [in your own words] refer to as “harassment”.
“There is nothing happening at the BOE that is truly transparent because Board members do not see themselves as representatives of the people but as an agent (s)of the superintendent. Committee meeting reports are rarely heard . For years minutes were not kept. Until recently you never even heard real discussions. The last public comment session takes place before the last agenda items which often include important items relevant to those attending and those watching from home. Mr. Dani attends meetings and asks politely for information that should be readily available to the public but doesn’t receive it. This happens to others as well. He pursued his request and we found out that there is no policy that precludes Bof E members from conducting business on private email accounts. This must be corrected. Also, without the questions regarding the bond referendum , we would be looking at an additional vote this year on a 95 million dollar bond on top of the 115 million dollar budget vote.”
Ridgewood NJ, I read with rising dismay some of the comments concerning my recent posting about Saurabh Dani, a candidate for the Ridgewood Board of Education, and an attempt force the taxpayers to finance his crusade to uncover nothing. While a number of Villagers appear to understand how nonsensical his behavior has been, and I appreciate their comments, there also those that seem bent to position him as some kind of hero in this fight. It is my sincere hope the majority see his conduct for what it really is – a self-serving and unproductive threat to Ridgewood Schools.
Ridgewood NJ, The BOE discussed a litigation item in Executive Session Thursday evening that concerns a settlement proposal of a lawsuit against the Board by Saurabh Dani, a candidate for the Board of Education in next week’s election.
This settlement proposal was not sought by the Board and originated with Mr. Dani’s attorney.
Ridgewood NJ, not the first time ,the Ridgewood School Board once caught but again continues to promote Ridgewood Walks despite the fact that taxpayer funded platforms and taxpayer funded employees should not be promoting private organizations and should not be used to promote election candidates.
Ridgewood Walks is not a registered non profit. Ridgewood Walks is not affiliated with the village. Ridgewood Walks is not promoted by the Mayor. Ridgewood Walks is actively promoting election candidates and the owner of Ridgewood Walks is a registered campaign manager for a council candidate as per the forms filed with NJ ELEC.
Ridgewood NJ, after having a little fun at BOE candidate Dan Creeds expense and sustaining a myriad of “troll” attacks , we figured we must be on to something so we found the posts so heinous that Mr Creed would basically stop campaigning and go on a Facebook rampage over who posted as opposed to to discussing what was posted .
