Fort Lee NJ, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrests of LUIS VILLAO-HARO (DOB: 10/23/1999) and ABDUL JIMENEZ-VERA (DOB: 9/22/2001), both of 642 Faile Street, Bronx, NY on charges related to a shooting in Fort Lee, NJ. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Acting Chief of Detectives Matthew Finck and the Fort Lee Police Department under the direction of Chief Matthew Hintze.

Hintze.
Fort Lee NJ, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the conviction of RANDY GALLMAN of Jersey City, NJ in connection with the attack of a Bergen County woman in broad daylight on December 29, 2020. On February 8, 2024, after a two-week trial before the Honorable James X. Sattely, P.J.Cr., in Bergen County Superior Court, RANDY GALLMAN was convicted of attempted kidnapping, attempted sexual assault, criminal sexual contact, simple assault, and harassment. Sentencing is scheduled for May 3, 2024.

Platkin, the Division of Criminal Justice (DCJ), and the New Jersey State Police (NJSP) today announced an investigation into two individuals who, based on the investigation to date, eluded police while driving a vehicle that rammed multiple police and commuter vehicles at the entrance to the George Washington Bridge in Fort Lee, New Jersey. The two individuals in the vehicle were taken into custody.
Newark NJ, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey announced today that nearly 14 million travelers are expected to use its airports and vehicular crossings during the 13-day peak travel period from Thursday, Dec. 21, to Tuesday, Jan. 2. The Port Authority expects this to be the busiest Christmas and New Year travel period ever for its three major airports, a continuation of travel trends seen throughout the year.

Fort Lee NJ, the Brigade of the American Revolution’s (BAR) annual Fort Lee event will take place on Saturday, November 18th. Please plan to arrive at Fort Lee prior to 8:30am to make preparations for the event. Fort Lee will be an accurate representation of the chaos of retreat with the central goal of true interpretation for spectators to understand the sacrifices of 247 years ago. Throughout the whole day, soldiers will work on making last-minute defenses while civilians of both armies will do their best to share stories of the struggles of being behind or on the lines of the fighting. There will be presentations and demos throughout the day on 18th century cricket, coffee making, music, and artillery; plus merchants selling goods and the infamous Civilian Contingent fabric sale inside the museum. Prior to the battle reenactment, a quick parade to the center of the city will again take place to honor those that gave the ultimate sacrifice. General Washington and his staff will also be on site to ensure the retreat goes as planned. Fort Lee NJ, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the Fort Lee Police Department have determined that the circumstances surrounding the death of a 7-year-old boy at a residential apartment complex on Anderson Avenue yesterday were the result of a tragic accident and no criminal activity was involved. On Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at approximately 5:29 p.m., the Fort Lee Police Department responded to a 911 call regarding a report that a 7-year-old boy had fallen from an upper-floor window. The child was transported to Hackensack University Medical Center and ultimately pronounced deceased.

Fort Lee NJ, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey today announced that its three major airports continued their record-setting pace through the first seven months of the year, surpassing 2019 numbers. The agency also reported that the seaport was the nation’s busiest for the month of July, handling its highest total of TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units) since October 2022. The agency also released monthly and year-to-date facility volumes at the agency’s airports, bridges and tunnels, PATH commuter rail and seaport.

Fort Lee NJ, Governor Phil Murphy today announced the filing of a lawsuit against the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) to block the ill-conceived ( NJ does not get any of the money) congestion pricing plan put forward by the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) and New York City and State agencies. In the suit, filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, the State of New Jersey argues that the USDOT and the FHWA violated the National Environmental Protection Act, which requires a full environmental impact review for projects of this projected impact and scope, as well as the Clean Air Act.
