Ho-Ho-Kus NJ, on July 1st Ho-Ho-Kus Police welcomed new Police Officer Kevin Rodrigo to the Ho-Ho-Kus Police Department. Kevin, who will wear badge #53, joins the Department from the Palisades Interstate Parkway Police where he served since 2017 and was recognized for his performance with a Lieutenant’s Patrol Commendation and a Unit Citation Award. Rodrigo is a volunteer firefighter for Company #1 with the Secaucus Fire Department. He holds a Master of Engineering degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

The Ho-Ho-Kus Ambulance Corps is Actively Seeking New Members

Ho-Ho-Kus NJ, The Ho-Ho-Kus Ambulance Corps formed in 1956 under the sponsorship of the V.F.W., reorganizing in 1962 with its own officers. In 1963, the Ambulance Corps dedicated its first new ambulance to the citizens of Ho-Ho-Kus.
Today, the Ho-Ho-Kus Memorial Volunteer Ambulance Corps consists of an exceptional team of dedicated and committed volunteers who faithfully respond to over 300 911 emergency calls per year, stand by at community events, educate local students, participate in training drills and provide EMS support to the Ho-Ho-Kus Police and Fire Departments.

Ho-Ho-Kus NJ, the Borough of Ho-Ho-Kus announced that Michael LaCroix has been named the new Chief of the Ho-Ho-Kus Police Department effective July 1, 2021. Mayor Thomas Randall swore-in LaCroix during last evening’s Mayor & Council meeting held in the Council Chambers at Borough Hall. LaCroix’s wife held the Bible.

Ho-Ho-Kus Swears in Two New Police officers

Ho-Ho-Kus NJ, Ho-Ho-Kus’ newest police officers, Samuel K. Kim and John Kleinert, were sworn in at the Mayor and Council meeting by Mayor Thomas Randall on Tuesday evening, May 18, 2021.
Samuel Kim joins us with nine years’ experience with the New York Amtrak Police Department, and more recently, the Palisades Park Police Department. His key accomplishments include two Life Saving awards, Resiliency Officer (RPO), LEAD Instructor, Social Media, TAC Assistant and Officer of the Month several times. Sam has been a volunteer firefighter in Northvale for the past 15 years. Kim earned a degree in Criminal Justice having attended John Jay College of Criminal Justice and Columbia Southern University.

100+ youths gather to watch fight at RHS – Police from multiple towns & county sheriff’s units respond

Ridgewood NJ, A Saturday night fist fight involving 2 male youths on the grounds of RHS reportedly drew more than 100 spectators and required Ridgewood Police to ask for police assistance from multiple towns and the Bergen Sheriff’s Office to disperse the gathered crowd.  No arrests were made, nor were any injuries reported in connection with the melee.

Women Leaps or Falls From Warren Avenue Bridge in Ho-Ho-Kus

Ho-Ho-Kus NJ, Ho-Ho-Kus Police, Ho-Ho-Kus EMS, and Ho-Ho-Kus Fire Department personnel rushed to aid an adult female who either fell or jumped off of the Warren Avenue Bridge into the shallow Ho-Ho-Kus Brook late Tuesday afternoon, 09/08. A “low angle rescue” procedure was implemented by firefighters from Ho-Ho-Kus Fire to extract the victim from the water and transport her up a steep embankment. A paramedic team from The Valley Hospital assisted Ho-Ho-Kus’ emergency responders. The victim was transported by ambulance to Hackensack University Center’s main campus. She was alert and conscious at the time transport began.

Minivan Slides off Rain-covered Route 17 Temporarily Shutting Down Southbound Traffic in Ho-Ho-Kus

Ho-Ho-Kus NJ, Ho-Ho-Kus Police responded to a Wednesday morning, 09/02 crash in which a minivan slid off of rain-covered Route 17 southbound near Hollywood Avenue, Ho-Ho-Kus into an adjacent wooded area. The vehicle’s adult male driver was uninjured in the mishap. A flatbed tow truck winched out of its predicament and towed it away. The on ramp from Hollywood Avenue to Route 17 southbound was closed while police and tow truck operators worked at the location.
