Ridgewood NJ, with crime targeting seniors on the raise, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella is pleased to announce a week-long senior citizen resource initiative titled, “We Care for Our Seniors” that was organized by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Community Engagement Division in partnership with the Bergen County Community Engagement Task Force. The initiative took place from Sunday, July 18 through Saturday, July 24, 2021.
The CETF is a network of Bergen County police officers who are focused on building firm and sustainable relationships between law enforcement and the communities they serve through engagement. These officers host programs and initiatives intended to improve public safety, increase communication, share resources, and build trust.

Ho-Ho-Kus NJ, on July 1st Ho-Ho-Kus Police welcomed new Police Officer Kevin Rodrigo to the Ho-Ho-Kus Police Department. Kevin, who will wear badge #53, joins the Department from the Palisades Interstate Parkway Police where he served since 2017 and was recognized for his performance with a Lieutenant’s Patrol Commendation and a Unit Citation Award. Rodrigo is a volunteer firefighter for Company #1 with the Secaucus Fire Department. He holds a Master of Engineering degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Ridgewood NJ, multiple vehicle break-ins and stolen cars are being reported on the north side of the Village, the area bordering Ho-Ho-kus. Ho-Ho-Kus residents are also reporting the same thing. Please check your car to make sure that it hasn’t been broken into. If it has, call Ridgewood Police immediately at 201-652-3900.

Ho-Ho-Kus NJ, Ho-Ho-Kus Police, Ho-Ho-Kus EMS, and Ho-Ho-Kus Fire Department personnel rushed to aid an adult female who either fell or jumped off of the Warren Avenue Bridge into the shallow Ho-Ho-Kus Brook late Tuesday afternoon, 09/08. A “low angle rescue” procedure was implemented by firefighters from Ho-Ho-Kus Fire to extract the victim from the water and transport her up a steep embankment. A paramedic team from The Valley Hospital assisted Ho-Ho-Kus’ emergency responders. The victim was transported by ambulance to Hackensack University Center’s main campus. She was alert and conscious at the time transport began.

Ho-Ho-Kus NJ, Ho-Ho-Kus Police responded to a Wednesday morning, 09/02 crash in which a minivan slid off of rain-covered Route 17 southbound near Hollywood Avenue, Ho-Ho-Kus into an adjacent wooded area. The vehicle’s adult male driver was uninjured in the mishap. A flatbed tow truck winched out of its predicament and towed it away. The on ramp from Hollywood Avenue to Route 17 southbound was closed while police and tow truck operators worked at the location.
