Streets will be closed to traffic from 5:30pm. Plan to shop a little; you can expect some nice discounts at Ridgewood stores from 5:30-7:00pm. Stop by to see Santa in the Park. Listen to live music by the Village clock.
At 7:00pm, enjoy entertainment from RHS Concert Band, Art of Motion, and Porch Light Productions.
Ridgewood NJ, Members of the Ridgewood Police Department have been growing beards during No-Shave November. The goal of No-Shave November is to grow awareness by embracing our hair, which many cancer patients lose, and letting it grow wild and free.

Ridgewood NJ, We have just learned from PSEG that the planned final paving of W. Glen Ave will be delayed until the Spring due to the late completion of the project and curbing required by Bergen County. W. Glen Ave is a county road and for that reason their regulations must be followed.
Ridgewood NJ, Train traffic on NJ Transit’s Bergen County and Main Lines was temporarily halted through HoHoKus on Tuesday morning, 11/29, while a HoHoKus PD uniformed patrol officer safely recovered an uninjured dog that had wandered onto the tracks after escaping from a yard on Hillcrest Road in Ridgewood. The dog ran after a deer and never looked back; this according to its adult female owner. Tyco Animal Control Services also responded to the incident. HoHoKus PD had received multiple 911 calls from train passengers who saw the dog wandering the tracks and dispatched two (2) patrol units to the area to recover it. The dog was wearing a collar with a tag bearing the cell phone number of its owner.

Valley Health System is proud to announce that Audrey Meyers, President and CEO of The Valley Hospital and Valley Health System, has been named to this prestigious list for the second consecutive year.

Ridgewood NJ, RHS Graduate 2011 Michael Anthony Mancini, Ridgewood, N.J., 23, died in Baltimore, MD. on Thanksgiving day Thursday Nov. 24th, 2016.Michael was born at Valley Hospital and also raised in Ridgewood. Michael graduated from University of Maryland in 2015.

Michael is survived by his mother and father, Ginger and Michael, and his brother Jake. He is also survived by his maternal grandmother, Virginia Curatola, nine cousins, and many aunts and uncles.

Ridgewood NJ, Two (2) persons were injured during a crash in which a Jeep traveling southbound on Northern Parkway in Ridgewood struck a vehicle backing out of a driveway at 576 Northern Parkway on Sunday evening, 11/27. One (1) person was transported by a Ridgewood EMS ambulance to The Valley Hospital, the other victim refused medical aid at the scene. Both vehicles were heavily damaged, however only the Jeep was removed from the scene by tow truck; the other vehicle remained disabled in the driveway from which it was backing out. Ridgewood PD, FD and EMS personnel were all dispatched to the scene.

Parking spot No. 24 in Ridgewood is an excellent spot for parking. It sits across Walnut Street from Memorial Park, smack in the middle of the downtown shopping district, next to the Alex & Ani jewelry shop and close to popular places like Starbucks, the Warner movie theater and the Country Pancake House.
Spot No. 24 is so good, in fact, that it’s nearly impossible to park there.

Your huge effort in developing, nurturing, marketing, and when appropriate, crowing about the impact and popularity of this forum is a big thing that local individuals and groups who have taken the time to learn about civil society, and who now realize its vital importance as a counterweight to the nanny state zealots who are seemingly all around us, gravely appreciate. Is it too much to say that you have played a significant part in cleaning up our local politics? That you opened the eyes of Village residents to the many virtues associated with our Faulkner Act-inspired tradition of non-partisan decision-making, enough to prompt local voters to take out so much trash in one fell swoop during the most recent round of Village Council elections? If it’s true that all politics is local, then your genuinely local focus is an excellent example to other true patriots operating in your slice of the publishing industry. Glen Rock NJ, On Sunday, November 20, 2016 at 10:00 AM, the Ridgewood Ambulance and Emergency Services and the Glen Rock Volunteer Ambulance Corps conducted a training exercise at the Glen Rock High School. There was a large presence of emergency medical personnel, ambulances and emergency vehicles at the High School. This drill was coordinated by Captain Murray Yang, of the Ridgewood Ambulance Corp, under the direction of Chief Tony Lillo, Ridgewood Emergency Services, Chief Ed Esposito, Glen Rock Ambulance Corp, Chief Dean Ackermann, Glen Rock Police.
The exercise was developed for the evaluation on the readiness of our emergency medical personnel, from radio communications, to evacuation procedures, and treatment protocols. The Officers and participants had a briefing following the exercise to assess any further training in which will be necessary in case a devastating incident occurs in our jurisdictions. The lessons learned from this exercise will be a basis for setting procedures and updating protocols for the cooperation and collaboration between Ridgewood Emergency Services and the Glen Rock Volunteer Ambulance Corps.

Ridgewood Nj, Three (3) teenage occupants of a 4-door white Mazda sedan were injured in an early afternoon two (2) vehicle crash at the intersection of Grove Street and South Pleasant Avenue, Ridgewood on Wednesday, 11/23. The Mazda’s female driver lost control of the vehicle after swerving and hit a large tree. Both vehicles involved in the crash were removed from the scene by a flatbed tow truck. All three (3) victims were transported by a Ridgewood EMS ambulance to The Valley Hospital with non life threatening injuries. The adult male driver of the other vehicle involved in the mishap, a Jeep, was uninjured. Ridgewood FD personnel attended to a minor crash related fluid spill. At least three (3) summonses were issued by Ridgewood PD in connection with the incident.
