Ridgewood NJ, the girls varsity soccer team will host Bergen Tech on Sunday at noon at Ridgewood High School . Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for students and senior citizens.
Any students, of any grade, who show up wearing Ridgewood Soccer apparel will get in for free (that’s for RHS, MSC, and RSA).

Ridgewood High School Alumni Association Hosts Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony for Duffield STEAM Initiative

Ridgewood NJ, the Ridgewood High School Alumni Association is hosting a ribbon-cutting ceremony to commemorate the opening of the Duffield STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics) Initiative on Saturday, October 8, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. on the front lawn of Ridgewood High School (RHS). The ceremony is the cornerstone event of the three-day Homecoming Weekend and will showcase three exciting projects that were made possible by the incredible generosity of esteemed alumnus, David Duffield, RHS Class of 1958, and the Dave & Cheryl Duffield Foundation.

Ridgewood NJ, the Ridgewood Maroons were looking for  revenge over the Passaic Tech Bulldogs for their defeat at the hands of the Bulldogs in the the North 1, Group 5 semifinals last season, Ridgewood came out on top with a 12-7 win over Passaic Tech in a battle of undefeated squads despite losing senior quarterback Jack Forech to injury in the second quarter.

Two Hundred Twenty-two Students at Ridgewood High School have been Named AP Scholars

Ridgewood NJ, two hundred twenty-two students at Ridgewood High School have been named AP Scholars by the College Board in recognition of their exceptional achievement on the college-level Advanced Placement Examinations. Eighty-seven students qualified for the AP Scholar with Distinction Award by earning an average of at least 3.5 on all AP Exams taken, and grades of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams. Fifty-five students qualified for the AP Scholar with Honor Award by earning an average grade of at least 3.25 on all AP exams taken, and grades of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams. Eighty students qualified for the AP Scholar Award by completing three or more AP Exams with grades of 3 or higher. Additionally, nine students received an AP Capstone Diploma, and 32 students received the AP Seminar and Research Certificate. An overview of the five-year trends was shared.

Over 1,500 students pitched their creative and innovative ideas and solutions to judges who volunteered their time and provided critical feedback to help teams along their STEAM Tank journey.

Jersey City NJ,  earlier this week, U.S. Senator Bob Menendez (D-N.J.) held a celebration honoring 18 bright, young New Jerseyans, who he nominated and were all accepted this year into the four U.S. service academies. The nominees were joined by their family, friends, and the academy screeners who recommended them for nominations. The ceremony took place in the senator’s Jersey City office.

At sunrise , a group of RHS Alumni Association (RHSAA) Trustees, RHS Principal, Jeff Nyhuis, RHS Assistant Principal, Basil Pizzuto, RHS 12th Grade Advisor, Meg Schaefer, RPS Public Information Officer, Charlene Labenda, Bergen County Commissioner, Ramon Hache (RHS ’91), PG ‘22 Chairs and Committee Chairs, RHS Lacrosse parents, friends and family members all came together to hang 470 maroon and white senior banners.  These banners were hung throughout our beautiful Village to highlight, to recognize and to celebrate each member of the RHS Class of 2022.
