Ridgewood Avenue, starting at Maple Avenue , and move east on Friday, August 24th for 4 days to be followed by paving. This work will be completed by Labor Day, weather permitting. The mysterious structure showed up over a week ago and has been focus on much speculation .
Ridgewood NJ, the Ridgewood Police report several instances of fraud and identity theft against Village residents. On August 17th, a Jackson Terrace resident reported a fraud and a theft occurred shortly after she placed a sealed envelope in a mailbox located in the area of West Ridgewood Avenue and Corsa Terrace. The victim reported after mailing the check she was notified by her bank the check was possibly stolen and cashed fraudulently. The victim was advised by her bank to close the account and document the incident.
Ridgewood NJ, Traffic Alert 8/24/18 ,East Ridgewood Ave will be closed beginning at 7:00am this morning from Maple Ave towards Paramus road while the road is milled in preparation for next weeks paving. Detours are in place. When the road is reopened this evening use caution when traveling the area as there will be several raised manholes until paving is complete. Expect delays in the area.
Ridgewood NJ, the Ridgewood Police report that patrol units responded to a North Broad Street business on August 18th for a dispute in progress. Upon patrol’s arrival the female actor, who reportedly threw a coffee cup at an employee, had fled from the business. The victim reported she was not injured and provided a description of the female actor. Patrol began to canvass the area and located the described actor, who was identified and admitted to being involved in the incident. The victim reported she did not wish to pursue criminal complaints but wished to advise the actor she can no longer return to the business.
Ridgewood NJ, the Ridgewood Police report that on August 16th, patrol units responded to a one car motor vehicle accident on Pine Street at 12:56 pm. The Ridgewood blog previously reported this incident .Upon arrival it was determined the vehicle was traveling west on Pine Street left the roadway and struck a tree where it came to a rest.

Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood Toastmasters has been around since May 1958 and on June 26th we held our celebration dinner at the Unitarian Society, our home for 30 of those 60 years. Past Club President and current member John Citti served as Toastmaster for the evening. Another past President, Diane Weiss, kicked off the festivities with an invocation. After dinner there was, of course, Table Topics, led by Keith Lazarus. The keynote speech was presented by David Romanchick, a six-time winner of District 46 and District 83 contests who placed second in the 2000 World Championship of Public Speaking. The Toastmaster of the Year award was presented to Akhil Kumar and a special Certificate of Appreciation was given to James Sutherland for his many years of service and mentoring.
