The below document represents answers, approaches and comments to questions, concerns and issues that were raised by residents and the Council regarding the leasing of Habernickel’s Gate House to Health Barn, USA. The Village Council will discuss two resolutions at the Wednesday, February 3rd meeting: one to change the use of the Gate House for recreational and educational purposes, and the second to authorize the signing of the lease between Health Barn and the Village. The vote on these resolutions will not be held until the Council session on February 10th. Ridgewood NJ, Traffic Alert: PSE&G has hired a contractor to restore the pavement on E. Ridgewood Avenue. They will begin milling E. Ridgewood Avenue, starting at Maple Avenue , and move east on Friday, August 24th for 4 days to be followed by paving. This work will be completed by Labor Day, weather permitting. To avoid possible traffic congestion in Paramus, this work schedule was amended to these new dates on 8/17/18.

Although it is often confused with vertigo or the spinning sensation that is observed when a person looks down from a high place, acrophobia is actually more than just height vertigo.
Ridgewood NJ, The Ridgewood Heath Department and the New Jersey Department of Health remind you that the warm weather brings ticks and Lyme disease. Lyme disease is an illness caused by infection with the bacterium Borrelia burgdorferi (boar-ELL-ee-uh burg-dorf-ERR-eye). This bacterium is carried by ticks. This infection can cause a variety of symptoms and if left untreated can be severe.
Ridgewood NJ, An unoccupied van owned by Village Taxi of Ridgewood was completely destroyed by fire on Friday morning, 08/17. Ridgewood Fire Department Engine Company #35 extinguished the South Broad Street, Ridgewood blaze after responding to multiple 911 phone calls reporting the conflagration. Several other vehicles parked next to the van were damaged by flames, intense heat, and heavy black smoke.
Ridgewood NJ, The uninjured adult female driver of a white colored BMW SUV was taken into custody by Ridgewood Police after crashing the vehicle into a tree on Pine Street, Ridgewood early Thursday afternoon, 08/16. Ridgewood EMS evaluated the driver for injuries before several police officers placed her in handcuffs and escorted her to the back seat of a waiting patrol vehicle. Ridgewood Fire Department EMTs responded to assist the ambulance driver. The vehicle was impounded and removed from the scene by a flatbed tow truck. Police officers at the scene did not comment as to why an arrest was made.
Ridgewood NJ, Valley’s plans to build a new, state-of-the-art hospital in Paramus received a significant boost, with two gifts totaling $35 million to The Valley Hospital Foundation. The gifts include $20 million from a long-time Valley supporter who wishes to remain anonymous, and $15 million from The Bolger Foundation, which was established by philanthropist David F. Bolger, another long-time Valley benefactor.
