Ridgewood NJ, according to the NYTimes , “Economists, business leaders and labor experts have warned for years that a coming wave of automation and digital technology would upend the work force, destroying some jobs while altering how and where work is done for nearly everyone.

In the past four months, the coronavirus pandemic has transformed some of those predictions into reality. By May, half of Americans were working from home, tethered to their employers via laptops and Wi-Fi, up from 15 percent before the pandemic, according to a recent study.”

“There will also be some level of Police presence at any organized event. For a BLM march, you had better believe there will be a large police presence. Why? If you have to ask this, then I can only assume you get your news from MSNBC/CNN or any of the other alphabet news stations. They carefully edit their reports to make sure that the marches are all rainbows and butterflies. Many actually are, but a lot have resulted in violence and damage. Of course, it’s your right to have a demonstration, but those police officers have to be paid for, and that’s the responsibility of those that organize the march.”

Reader says back to the , “broken window strategy”

“As much as I detest these nihilists, Marxists, agitators (call them anything but protesters) I don’t think billing organizers for police overtime is a viable solution. I also don’t want these people destroying parks. The solution is what’s called the broken window strategy. Get to the rally early and start making arrests for any real offense, however petty. This prevents any real unrest. This is the strategy that helped turn NYC around in the 1990s. It’s common sense and it works and Ridgewood should use it. And everyone should take note of the similarities between Ridgewood and Kenosha. Both in Democrat run states, both about 50 miles from a very large city and very similar demographics.”

Ridgewood NJ, a new Cato national survey finds that self‐censorship is on the rise in the United States. Nearly two-thirds—62%—of Americans say the political climate these days prevents them from saying things they believe because others might find them offensive. The share of Americans who self‐censor has risen several points since 2017 when 58% of Americans agreed with this statement.

Clearly we have seen this in action even on a local level in Ridgewood. Name calling, bullying , “filtering” , silencing , group think , conformity, blind obedience ,right think , Facebook excommunication, boycotts and  trying to get people fired  has become part of life in Ridgewood .  https://theridgewoodblog.net/in-ridgewood-its-free-speech-for-some-but-not-for-others/

Greece could face social unrest soon: Wilbur Ross

Matthew J. Belvedere | @Matt_Belvedere

The deteriorating situation in Greece—including long lines and a 60 euro ($67) limit at ATMs—could get much worse if voters there refuse to accept creditor-imposed reforms in a referendum this coming Sunday, said billionaire Wilbur Ross, who has a large interest in the country.

“Once there’s social unrest, which there will be before too long if this thing continues, no tourist is going to want to go to [Greece],” Ross told CNBC’s “Squawk Box” on Monday. “If the Greek people understand how limited those concessions that are requested are, and contemplate going into the abyss on other side, they’re never going to pick the abyss.”

Last year, the chairman and CEO of WL Ross & Co. and other international financiers invested $1.8 billion in Eurobank—becoming the biggest shareholder of Greece’s third-largest bank. He said Monday he made the bet thinking the current government would not be in power.

Ross said there are lines at Eurobank branches, but surprisingly they’re “not totally out of control yet.”
