“Many of these young people take this issue very seriously and are willing “to get up early” to support it. I’m sure they will be telling tales about it when they get older. As long as they do it in a proper manner and respecting all appropriate laws, let them be. However, the fact that the Officers felt the need to show up is proof that too many are “fake protesters, just trying to see how much attention they can get by being rowdy and, in some cases, actually dangerous.”

Everyone keeps telling them to “get jobs”. the question during this pandemic is “Where?” Adults can’t find jobs and all the summer jobs for teens, and regular jobs for older youth, are gone. Our recent college graduate has been searching since March. Fortunately, her older brother and sister have been able to keep the ones they’ve had since they have graduated. Offer these protestors a job and see how many will jump to take it–they’re not all “spoiled Ridgewood brats” and the majority of Ridgewood’s young people are far from being “spoiled brats”. Look at all the volunteer work they do and all the help they’ve provided to the Seniors Citizens in Ridgewood esp. during this pandemic. Remember, all you grouches were teens once. Were you always angelic?”

Reader Warns , “intelligence will be mistakenly perceived by the deranged mob as intransigence, and the people who express it attacked and “canceled”

“We’ve imbibed so much fear-mongering propaganda, and done so in such a docile, unquestioning manner, that we have suffered psychological damage. Six months of psyops has produced a great deal of mental and emotional scar tissue. We’ve impaired our ability to think, not only as individuals, but also collectively at every level–local, county, state, as a country, and as a species (globally). Groupthink is putting us in a deeper and deeper rut of stupid every day now. The bad decisions we are making now will have untoward ramifications for years or even decades unless sanity somehow re-emerges and is allowed to prevail. The problem is, intelligence will be mistakenly perceived by the deranged mob as intransigence, and the people who express it attacked and “canceled”.

The dynamic of Groupthink is now kicking into higher gear. Demented minds are collectively producing poorer and poorer decisions. If we don’t soon get a hold of ourselves as a society, the edifice of reasoned self-government we’ve been building for the past few centuries here on this side of the Atlantic will continue to weaken. It might even collapse.”

Reader says parents wanting to give their children everything, forgot to give them the tools of life that mattered

kids-on-smartphones

The bottom line is that parents and teachers are giving so much safe space that there is no thinking on the part of the student as they mature to find their way through difficulties and problems. Parents solve the child’s problems immediately and at every turn which sets them up when they are young adults for FAILURE since they have no clue how to interact to a amicable conclusion. Now the idea is just to call your opposing individual names and label them to intimidate or cry for a safe space. Those parents who have taught their children the skills to interact, accept success in a humble manner and accept failure and the consequences as a growth tool to tackle the problem differently in the future….are the ones that will succeed – you know them when you see them. These are the young adults that companies WANT to hire, the others will stumble and fall many times before figuring it out, but it didn’t have to be that way….their parents wanting to give them everything, forgot to give them the tools of life that mattered. Pity.

Are National Anthem Protests Costing NFL Viewership?

Boycott NFL #boycottNFL

(WWJ) James Olson, a Sports Illustrated subscriber since fourth grade, watches action-packed NFL games on TV to escape from the endless round of political bickering playing out on other channels.

But with more national anthem protests cropping up, he feels like politics has taken over his favorite sport, too. So he’s tuning out.

“I want to say to these guys ‘If you weren’t playing in the NFL, you would be working at McDonalds. I think people have had it,” said, Olson, a Birmingham, Mich., resident.

He’s not alone.

The NFL opener, a Super Bowl rematch between the Denver Broncos and Carolina Panthers, brought 25.2 million viewers — which is an astonishing number of eyeballs. “For comparison, The Walking Dead averages around 14 million live viewers as TV’s most-watched show,” Forbes wrote.

But that’s down 8 percent from 2015 and 6 percent from 2014. Sunday’s numbers, Forbes added, were down 13 percent from last year.

“This also marked the lowest overnight season-opening rating in seven years,” Forbes found.
