In 2021 there were 26 Unlocked Cars Stolen in the Village of Ridgewood

Ridgewood NJ, according to the Ridgewood Police Department and as frequently reported on the Ridgewood blog , auto theft is on the rise in the state of New Jersey. In 2021 there were 26 cars stolen in the Village of Ridgewood. Every car stolen was unlocked with the keys left in it. It’s important to always lock your car whenever it is left unattended. Studies have shown that the vast majority of vehicles that are burglarized or stolen have been left unlocked. Don’t be the next victim. Here are several simple steps that everyone should follow.

Ridgewood NJ, NJ.COM has announced that on Thursday morning, NJ.com will remove comments from the site. NJ.COM says ,”Archived stories also will have comments eliminated. We understand this will be upsetting to some of the people who read and post comments, but our editors will continue working to find the best ways to engage and hear your voice.”

The Ridgewood blog currently has no plans to eliminate comments anonymous or otherwise at this time or in the foreseeable future. We feel strongly that it is important to know what your neighbors really think and as we all know sometimes its just not pretty .

UPDATE : Fake News, Cover-ups, Intimidation, and Crummy Newspapers – No, we are not talking about the Nation, we’re talking about our little hamlet of Ridgewood

Ridgewood NJ, Late last summer a reporter employed by The Record newspaper, submitted an Open Public Records Act (OPRA) request to the Village Clerk’s office that asked for some information from all five elected Council members.  Four of the five complied in a timely fashion, as required BY LAW.  Councilman Jeffrey Voigt, however, delayed his response.  When he finally did respond, he included a fictitious narrative that was not what the reporter had requested.  Actually, even if his narrative had been factual, this would not have been in compliance with OPRA, as you are not supposed to CREATE DOCUMENTS when supplying information via the OPRA process.  The fact that Councilman Voigt’s response was full of untruths just compounded the violation.

just as some people hesitate to post on Facebook because of “various reasons,” on the flip side some people post planted information on FB even if they don’t believe it. If you work for an organization, for example, you might hate every person who supervises you, but still you would post praise in order to keep your job.

In the case of this BOE mess, I think those who hesitate to post on FB are the ones who fear that the BOE would go after their kids in some way if negative postings came from the parents. And if you think this is a stretch, you are wrong, it has happened many times.

So the BLOG is the one place where everyone can be honest. I am betting that HASA president or whatever she is might be posting completely different opinions here on The BLOG.
