Waldwick NJ, the force of a two (2) vehicle early Monday afternoon, 10/23, crash at the intersection of Frederick Street and Harrison Avenue in Waldwick resulted in a Jeep SUV being propelled away from the impact site, up an embankment, and onto the lawn of a nearby home. The Jeep’s driver was transported to The Valley Hospital by a Waldwick EMS ambulance. Her injuries were said to be non life threatening in nature. The other vehicle’s (a Mercedes sedan) driver was shaken up in the mishap, but refused medical aid. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

Paramus NJ, the renowned Alexander’s mural, which had been removed from Paramus 25 years ago, is now finding a new home at The Valley Hospital’s new campus. The mural’s panels were unpacked on a Tuesday morning, with installation in the hospital’s garden scheduled to commence the following day, as confirmed by Erin Blake, Valley’s manager for external communications. The installation process, involving over two dozen panels, will extend throughout the month and is expected to be completed on or before October 27. This homecoming of the iconic mural signifies its return to the local landscape, evoking nostalgia and celebrating its historical significance.

Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood firefighters used a battery operated hydraulic rescue tool to extricate a Passaic County Health Department employee from her official vehicle after it was struck by a Jeep at the intersection of Linwood Avenue and Walthery Avenue, Ridgewood on Sunday night, 10/08. After being struck on its driver’s side, the health department SUV spun out of control and slammed into a utility pole. An ambulance transported the driver, whose injuries appeared to have been non life threatening in nature, to The Valley Hospital. The heavily damaged SUV was towed from the scene; damage to the Jeep was limited to its bumper and it was driven from the scene on its own power. Ridgewood Police investigated the crash.

Glen Rock NJ, on Monday morning, 10/02, chemical spill inside of the Glen Rock Middle School and High School forced school administrators to dismiss all students at 12 noon, and to order the cancellation of all programs scheduled to take place at the facility on Monday afternoon and evening. Emergency responders at the scene were tight lipped as to what spilled, but school officials did say the incident happened in an office area. An individual was said to have been transported by ambulance to The Valley Hospital, but no confirmation of this report was available on scene. Vehicles from multiple public safety agencies were seen parked in front of the school building for hours.

Ridgewood NJ, the driver of a while colored Tesla was extricated by Ridgewood Fire Department firefighters after becoming entrapped in the vehicle’s passenger compartment following an early Thursday afternoon, 09/28, rollover crash in the 200 block of Van Emburgh Avenue, Ridgewood. The Tesla slammed into the back of a parked landscape contractor’s truck before rolling over on the driver’s side. Both vehicles were removed from the scene by separate flatbed tow trucks. The driver was transported by ambulance to Hackensack University Medical’s main campus for treatment. A paramedic team from The Valley Hospital responded to the crash as did several Ridgewood Police Department units. Paramus Police Department assisted with traffic control.

Ridgewood Police Department also responded. Both vehicles were towed from the scene by a flatbed tow truck.

Ridgewood NJ, a black colored Acura SUV occupied by an pregnant woman being rushed to The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood early Wednesday morning, 09/06, was involved in a collision just minutes away from the hospital on Route 17 northbound at Linwood Avenue. The collision likely triggered birth of the baby, who was transported to the hospital’s emergency room along with mom and dad by the driver of a work van that may have also been involved in the collision. Mother, child, and father were reported to all be doing fine following the harrowing mishap. Ridgewood Police officers responded to the crash scene to retrieve personal items from the crashed Acura and to investigate the crash. The Acura was removed from the scene by a flatbed tow truck. Paramus Police assisted with traffic control.

Fair Lawn NJ, a 4-door Toyota Camry driving southbound on Route 208 near Virginia Drive in Fair Lawn, careened off of the highway late Saturday night, 08/26, and crashed into the basement of a nearby garden apartment complex. The vehicle’s driver could not be located following the crash. Occupants of the struck building were asked to evacuate until the vehicle could be safely removed from the structure; structural damage was reported to have been significant. Evacuated residents standing outside reported observing water leaking in the basement. A technician from PSE&G’s Gas Division was on scene inspecting natural gas lines in the basement. No injuries to residents were reported. Paramus Police assisted Fair Lawn Police with traffic and crowd control. Fair Lawn FD Company #3 and Fair Lawn Heavy Rescue also responded, along with an ambulance (for standby) from The Valley Hospital. K-9 units from the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office were also dispatched to assist.
UPDATE: The vehicle’s driver was taken into custody by Fair Lawn Police at a residence in Waldwick approximately two (2) hours after the crash occurred.

Ridgewood NJ, a missing stop sign may have contributed to a Saturday morning, 08/26, three (3) vehicle T-Bone collision at the intersection of East Ridgewood Avenue and North Irving Street, Ridgewood in which one (1) driver was injured. Two (2) vehicles, a Lexus SUV and a Ford work van, were heavily damaged and removed from the scene by a flatbed tow truck. Ridgewood Police and Ridgewood Fire Department/EMS responded to the incident. The injured driver was transported by ambulance to The Valley Hospital with a non-life threatening head injury.

Glen Rock NJ, the adult driver of a KIA Sportage was extradited from her vehicle after it slammed into a utility pole and rolled over in the 400 block of Lincoln Avenue, Glen Rock on Tuesday afternoon, 08/15. The victim was transported by a Glen Rock EMS ambulance to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center for treatment. A paramedic team from The Valley Hospital and Glen Rock Fire Department also responded to the incident. PSE&G Electric Division and Verizon crews began restoring service after a tow truck righted the vehicle and removed it from the scene.

Glen Rock NJ, two (2) injuries were reported following a two (2) vehicle, T-Bone crash in the 100 block of Hillman Avenue, Glen Rock on Tuesday morning, 08/15. Glen Rock EMS transported an adult victim with a leg injury to The Valley Hospital by ambulance. A juvenile victim with a hip injury was attended to by EMTs on location and subsequently released to a parent. Both vehicles involved in the mishap were towed from the scene by a flatbed. Glen Rock Police also responded to the incident.

Fair Lawn NJ, three (3) individuals were seriously injured late Thursday evening, 08/03, when a Nissan Maxima crashed into an overpass on Route 208 southbound at Saddle River Road in Fair Lawn. All victims were transported to Hackensack University Medical Center’s main campus by multiple Fair Lawn EMS ambulances. A paramedic team from The Valley Hospital assisted Fair Lawn EMS with patient evaluation. Paramus Police assisted Fair Lawn Police with traffic control. The demolished Nissan was removed from the scene by a flatbed tow truck. An entrance ramp to Route 208 southbound at Saddle River Road was closed while emergency responders assisted the victims and cleaned up the mess.
