Ridgewood Overdose Victim Rushed to Valley Hospital by Glen Rock Police

Glen Rock NJ, on June 8th the Glen Rock Police reported at 5:37 p.m. that patrols checking on the welfare of a man lying in the playground area at Wilde Park found that the subject, a 26-year-old Ridgewood man, was unconscious and had overdosed on heroin. Officers were able to revive the man with Narcan and he was transported by ambulance to Valley Hospital in Ridgewood. The same individual had been revived by officers from a Heroin overdose in Wilde Park on June 6th.

A recovery specialist from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Heroin Addiction Recovery Team was dispatched to follow up with the victim at Valley Hospital.

Valley Hospital Reports Fewer than a Handful of COVID19 Patients

68-year-old Glen Rock Bicyclist Rear Ends Parked Car

Glen Rock NJ, Glen Rock Police report at 1:23 p.m.on May 21st  P.O. T.J. Graziani responded to assist an injured woman on the 100 block of Main Street. The subject, a 68-year-old Glen Rock woman, had accidentally ridden her bicycle into the back of a legally parked vehicle and subsequently fell. She was assisted on scene and transported by ambulance to the ER at Valley Hospital.

Ridgewood Police Respond to Gas Station Assault

Ridgewood NJ, according to the Ridgewood Police Patrol units responded to 490 Route 17 South on a report of an assault in progress on May 5, 2020. Upon arrival, the victim reported having an argument with a co-employee of the business and it became physical when the actor began striking him in the face. The Ridgewood Ambulance responded to the scene and transported the victim to the Valley Hospital for treatment. The victim reported he only wished to document the incident and did not wish to sign a criminal complaint.

Valley was one of only 30 hospitals in New Jersey and one of 867 hospitals out of approximately 2,600 graded nationwide — or the top third — to  receive an “A,” ranking it among the safest hospitals in the United States.

Elective Surgeries and Invasive Procedures to Resume on May 26th

Ridgewood NJ,  Governor Phil Murphy today signed Executive Order No. 145, allowing elective surgeries and invasive procedures, both medical and dental, to resume on Tuesday, May 26 at 5:00 a.m. These procedures will resume according to policies that will be issued by the New Jersey Department of Health and the Division of Consumer Affairs by Monday, May 18. This order rescinds the suspension of all elective surgeries and invasive procedures performed on adults, which was instituted beginning on March 27 under Executive Order No. 109 to preserve essential equipment and health care system capacity to respond to COVID-19.

Valley Hospital Closes Majority of It’s COVID-19 Units as Emergency Begins to Subside

Ridgewood NJ, according to Valley Hospital Communications and Marketing Manager Maureen Curran Kleinman in a Tuesday email that, as the result of a decline in COVID-19 inpatients at the hospital, the decision was made to transition six of the eight COVID-19 units back to other functions.The six units  that are currently closed will be deep cleaned and disinfected before being reopened for patient care.Leaving two intensive care units remaining dedicated to COVID-19.

Time to Lift Ban on Elective Surgeries and Begin Opening Up Healthcare Centers in New Jersey

Trenton NJ, Senator Joe Pennacchio, while applauding the Governor for opening up parks, is calling on the Murphy Administration to begin reinstating “elective” surgeries in the state.

“We are finally allowing people to get out and walk in our parks and reap the physical and emotional health benefits of exercise. Now it’s time to prioritize the general health of the population and the fiscal stability of our essential hospitals,” said Senator Pennacchio (R-26). “With the emphasis on the virus, at-risk patients have not had access to important and necessary procedures. It’s time to allow people who are not infected to get the care they need from hospitals, health centers, doctors, dentists and eye doctors.”

Valley Hospital Marks the 500th COVID 19 Patient Release

Ridgewood NJ, according to the Ridgewood Police Department on April 23,2020 saw the 500th COVID 19 patient to walk out of Valley Hospital, a Police Lieutenant from the Orangetown NY Police Department. Ridgewood Police officers were there to clap showing support to our fellow first responders and the healthcare heroes. Ridgewood officers along with officers from the Northvale Police Department assisted in escorting the Orangetown Lieutenant as he left Valley Hospital.
