Progressive Sexism

President-Elect Donald J

by CARRIE LUKAS February 2, 2017 4:00 AM

So much for ‘going high.’ Those who had warned about an uptick in sexism under President Trump may have been on to something.

As the era of Trump dawns, some women already are being singled out for criticism and scorn that is tinged with sexist assumptions and seems intended to force them back into roles society decrees are a must for good women. Yet this isn’t a Republican “war on women,” as some predicted. It is, rather, progressives and left-leaning media elites who are targeting conservative women. Take the recent Saturday Night Live skit ridiculing Kellyanne Conway, the first woman to have led a successful Presidential campaign. (Full disclosure: I’ve met Kellyanne professionally.)

Politico Censors Black, Jewish, Women, Hispanic, Immigrant Voices to Silence Defenders of Steve Bannon

Steve Bannon

by BREITBART NEWS 3 Sep 20162,383

Politico’s Hadas Gold bashed Stephen K. Bannon, Breitbart News’ Executive Chairman who is on leave of absence to serve as GOP presidential nominee Donald J. Trump’s campaign CEO, in a lengthy hit piece on Friday.

In it, Gold quotes a variety of anonymous sources, politically motivated opponents, and disgruntled ex-employees of Bannon’s over the years in an attempt to paint him as a racist, sexist, homophobe, and whatever other nasty allegations she can throw at the wall that might stick.

Roseanne is also a former instructor, a board member and current President of the North Jersey Institute of Financial Education. She serves as a deacon of the Reformed Church of Closter, and President of the Closter chapter of the American Association of University Women.

“Roseanne is a stunning example of what we mean by an empowered and an empowering woman,” said YWCA Bergen County CEO Helen Archontou. “Her contribution and willingness to help others help themselves set her apart as a woman of admirable generosity and, yes, of great influence in her community. We are so proud to honor Roseanne and our other remarkable TWIN Honorees as we continue this wonderful tradition.”
YWCA Bergen County is now accepting nominations from corporate and community leaders for its Tribute to Women of INfluence (TWIN) program. These honorees will be joining a growing list of “stand out” women, including the YW’s own honorees, founder and managing consultant of KEY HR Consulting, LLC and Mocha Moms member Tanisha Russell Day and owner and President of Belvedere Building and Contracting, Mary Anne Belvedere.

In Their Own Words: Why Bill’s ‘Bimbos’ Fear a Hillary Presidency

Jennifer Flowers

by AARON KLEIN

As women’s issues become part of the 2016 presidential race, it may be instructive to review recent statements made by some of Bill Clinton’s alleged female victims regarding the ambitions of Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton.

Last week, Hillary accused Republican canddiate Donald Trump of having a “penchant for sexism” in an interview with the Des Moines Register in Iowa.  The billionaire fired backon Twitter: “Be careful Hillary as you play the war on women or women being degraded card.”

Trump followed up with a second tweet, saying, “Hillary, when you complain about ‘a penchant for sexism,’ who are you referring to? I have great respect for women. BE CAREFUL!”

Ridgewood NJ, Lieutenant Governor Kim Guadagno was an informative and entertaining speaker at the League of Women Voters of Ridgewood annual fall luncheon on September 22nd at the Old Paramus Reformed Church. The League was thrilled that so many members and their guests were able to attend!

Kim Guadagno was elected New Jersey’s first Lieutenant Governor in November 2009 and was sworn into office on January 19, 2010.  She was re-elected to a second term on November 5, 2013.  In addition to serving as the Lt. Governor, Kim Guadagno serves as the 33rd Secretary of State.

Lt. Governor Guadagno leads the Christie Administration’s efforts to improve New Jersey’s economic vitality, encourage job growth, streamline government, and make businesses feel welcome again in New Jersey.  The Lt. Governor oversees the New Jersey Partnership for Action (PFA), the State’s four-pronged comprehensive economic development strategy.  Designed to serve businesses of all sizes and development stages, the PFA is a public-private approach to economic development and the starting point for all initiatives, policies, and efforts to grow New Jersey’s economy and create quality, sustainable jobs in our communities.  The PFA is comprised of the Business Action Center, which reports directly to the Lt. Governor and provides the business community with a single point of contact; the New Jersey Economic Development Authority, serving as the state’s “bank for business”; Choose New Jersey, an independently funded and operated 501(c)(3) business-attraction and lead-generation organization that markets the state; and the Office of the Secretary of Higher Education, which coordinates with New Jersey’s institutions of higher learning to prepare an educated workforce.  The Lt. Governor also chairs the Red Tape Review Commission, which is engaged in an ongoing review and reform of the State’s regulatory process.

Furthermore, Lt. Governor Guadagno chairs the New Jersey Military Installation Growth and Development Task Force.  The Task Force, created through Executive Orders Nos. 134 and 154, is charged with forging an effective blueprint for securing the long-term growth and viability of New Jersey’s military bases and U.S. Coast Guard installations.

As the Secretary of State, Lt. Governor Guadagno is New Jersey’s chief election official, oversees promotion of the state’s $40 billion tourism industry, and administers programs related to the arts, culture, and history.

Lt. Governor Guadagno began her public service career as a federal prosecutor with the Organized Crime & Racketeering Strike Force in Brooklyn, New York.  She later married and moved to Monmouth County.  At that time, Guadagno became an Assistant United States Attorney in Newark.  She was awarded the nation’s highest honor for her prosecutions of two separate corrupt public officials.  After her federal service, Guadagno served as a ranking member of the State of New Jersey Attorney General’s Office.

In 2001, Kim Guadagno left the public sector to practice law closer to home and became a teacher at Rutgers University School of Law-Newark. She was also appointed to the Monmouth Beach planning board and was elected as a Borough Commissioner in 2005.

In 2007, Kim Guadagno was elected as the first woman sheriff in Monmouth County’s history.  As Sheriff, she managed a 650-member law enforcement agency encompassing the county jail, the county 911 communications center, and a law enforcement department of 100 men and women.  She left both the Office of Sheriff and her position as a teacher at Rutgers Law School upon becoming Lt. Governor.

Lt. Governor Guadagno was born in Waterloo, Iowa and is a cum laude graduate of Ursinus College in Collegeville, Pennsylvania.  She received her juris doctorate degree, cum laude, from the American University Washington College of Law in Washington, DC.  Lt. Governor Guadagno and her husband currently reside in Monmouth Beach with their three sons.

Executive Order, to force schools, businesses, etc, to allow men to use girls’ locker rooms and toilets

RHS Toilet
June 11,2016

by Ron DuBois

Since the President saw fit to issue “guidelines” in an Executive Order, to force schools, businesses, etc, to allow men to use girls’ locker rooms and toilets, I’ve been following the fallout. Shortly after the decree, some schools and stores began welcoming trans-sexuals, and other gender-confused people, to use whatever bathroom or changing facility they identified most with. One reason given was that such persons should not be made to feel uncomfortable if, for example, they are males who believe they are really females trapped in mens’ bodies, and would prefer to use the ladies room rather than the men’s room.I don’t want to go into the usual arguments, like male predators wanting to see females in various stages of undress, but I wonder – if a male wants to use the female bathroom or locker room because he feels uncomfortable using the male facilities, did the President think how uncomfortable the girls might be with men coming in gawking at them? Transgendered people make up well under one percent of the population; why are we trying to accommodate their feelings at the expense of the, say 50 percent of females in the population, who will now be made to feel uncomfortable? It seems to defy logic, when maybe 80 or 90 females have to be made uncomfortable, so one male/female doesn’t.

Well, about a week after this started, I thought of an answer, but didn’t say anything because I was sure lots of others would also think of it. To date, I haven’t heard or read about anyone proposing my solution. I believe it’s because certain people (in power) on both sides don’t want a simple solution. It really isn’t about inclusiveness for all, it’s about breaking down the traditions that have served us well, like honesty and morality, like traditional marriage and the family, like teaching schoolkids about American History and the Constitution, and making them proud to be Americans. The actions of Progressives and others show just how astute Benjamin Franklin was, when he said the Constitution was only for a moral and religious people, and was totally inadequate for any other.

So here is the solution I propose. Every school, and every large store, has facilities to change, try on things, and go to the toilet; they have multiple places for these accommodations. Schools, for instance have faculty bathrooms, as well as student bathrooms. Since the  number of transgenders, cross-dressers, etc at each school, store or business is miniscule, only one toilet will be needed to accommodate them (maybe more on a college campus with thousands of students). One of the faculty bathrooms can be set aside for this purpose. Large facilities, institutions, and stores also have enough bathrooms to set one aside so transgenders, etc can use a toilet or change, without embarrassment.

For showering, I can only suggest that if someone is uncomfortable showering with others who have the same genitalia, they wait until they get home to shower. I do not advocate males being allowed to barge into a female shower room, and shower with them. I also believe that if a man wants to use the female showers, it should only be allowed if he has undergone the full medical change, so he is now a woman, like Bruce Jenner did. Just because a man feels feminine one morning does not give him the right to shower with the girls at school.

Famous Feminist: While We’re ‘Navel-Gazing’ About Gender Identity, ‘ISIS Is Beheading People’

camille_paglia

James Barrett

In an interview with Spiked Online, radical feminist Camille Paglia unloaded both barrels on the Left’s “self-absoprtion” with gender identity, saying all the “hyper-self-consciousness about ‘Who am I? Where exactly am I on the gender spectrum?’ is mere navel-gazing, while in the Middle East, ISIS is beheading people.”

In the half-hour interview with Spiked’s Ella Whelan, the openly gay, contrarian feminist professor commented on several controversial issues, including the transgender debate, the so-called “campus rape culture,” and the censorship of honest discussions about what causes homosexuality. As usual, Paglia’s take on all of it probably won’t make her fellow feminists and LGBT activists happy.

While women overseas face true oppression, Western feminists dream up petty hashtags

war on women

Race and Gender, Society and Culture

In August 2014, 12 members of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard charged into 28-year-old artist Atena Farghadani’s house, blindfolded her, and took her to prison.

She had posted a satirical cartoon on Facebook to protest proposed legislation to restrict birth control and women’s rights. Farghadani has since been found guilty of “spreading propaganda” and “insulting members of parliament through paintings.” She has been sentenced to 12 years in prison.

Farghadani is one of millions of women whose basic rights are being ruthlessly violated. In countries like Iran, Yemen, Egypt, and Cambodia, women are struggling for freedoms most women in the West take for granted.

But American feminists are relatively silent about these injustices — especially feminists on campus. During the 1980s, there were massive demonstrations on American college campuses against racial apartheid in South Africa. There is no remotely comparable movement on today’s campuses against the gender apartheid prevalent in large parts of the world. Why not?

Today’s young feminist activists are far too preoccupied with their own supposed victimhood to make common cause with women like Farghadani.

What Patricia Arquette Got Wrong About the Founders and Women

What Patricia Arquette Got Wrong About the Founders and Women
David Azerrad / February 23, 2015

In a harried Oscar acceptance speech which culminated in a hackneyed call for wage equality, actress Patricia Arquette blamed the Founders for the so-called gender pay gap.

“It’s inexcusable that we go around the world and we talk about equal rights for women in other countries when we don’t have equal rights for women in America,” Arquette, who won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress, said. “And we don’t because when they wrote the Constitution, they didn’t intend it for women.”

Like many Americans, actress Patricia Arquette doesn’t understand the Constitution (she also doesn’t understand basic economics as The Federalist’s Mollie Hemingway pointed out).

If the Framers didn’t intend the Constitution for women, they sure did a fine job of concealing their intention. Nowhere in the original Constitution are citizens classified according to sex. As Tiffany Jones Miller explains in the “Heritage Guide to The Constitution” essay on the 19th Amendment:

Contrary to popular belief, the United States Constitution of 1787 is a gender-neutral document. Throughout the original text, the Framers refer to “persons”—as opposed to “male persons”—and use the pronoun “he” only in the generic sense. The word “male” did not even appear in the Constitution until the Fourteenth Amendment was ratified in 1868.

While we’re at it, it’s worth pointing out that the Declaration of Independence also doesn’t take into account sex in proclaiming that we are all created equal and endowed by our Creator with inalienable rights. The Declaration speaks of “all men” and not “all human beings” because the former is a more rhetorically powerful way to describe mankind.

Neither one of our founding documents classifies people according to sex—or according to race or religion for that matter. Therefore, contrary to what many civics textbooks incorrectly teach, the original Constitution did not restrict the right to vote to white, property-owning males aged 21 or older.

Women were voting in New Jersey at the time of the Founding! For the first time in recorded history, women voted alongside men in elections

The Constitution defers to the states on voting eligibility in federal elections. As is plainly written in Article I, Section 2: “the Electors in each State shall have the Qualifications requisite for Electors of the most numerous Branch of the State Legislature.”

As a result, voting eligibility varied by state. Certain states denied blacks the right to vote—but a majority did not. And—here comes the whopper—women were voting in New Jersey at the time of the Founding! For the first time in recorded history, women voted alongside men in elections. And it happened right here in America—the first country in the world dedicated to the proposition that all men and women are created equal.

The 19th Amendment, therefore, did not give women the right to vote. It guaranteed women the right to vote. By the time it was ratified in 1920, more than three-fourths of the states already allowed women to vote in some or all elections. Ultimately, the seeds of women’s suffrage were sown in the Declaration of Independence’s dedication to equality.

Whatever the state of remuneration in the workplace may be today, Patricia Arquette and others should leave the Founders out of it.

Miss USA Winner Sparks Feminist Fury: Encourages Women to Avoid Being Victims Through Self-Defense

Feminists were in an uproar over a very controversial and insensitive statement that is sure to haunt Miss Nevada Nia Sanchez for the rest of her life.

The question came from Rumer Willis, who’s known for nothing other than being the daughter of Bruce Willis:

“Recently “Time Magazine” said 19% of U.S. undergraduate women are victims of sexual assault in college. Why has such a horrific epidemic been swept under the rug for so long and what can colleges do to combat this?”

Miss Nevada answered:

“I believe some colleges may potentially be afraid of having a bad reputation, and that would be a reason that it could be swept under the rug because they don’t want it to come out into the public but I think more awareness is very important so women can learn how to protect themselves. Myself as a fourth degree black belt, I learned from a young age that you need to be confident and being able to defend yourself and I think that’s something we should start to implement for a lot of women.”

For the evil sin of publicly advocating for women to take some steps to defend themselves, she was immediately vilified, because as we all know, you just can’t say such things in today’s PC-driven world. Get ready:

Ms. Nevada just said the best way to prevent college rape is to teach women self defense…and not men self-control..?
