Wyckoff NJ, the Wyckoff Police Department has received multiple reports from residents that they have been contacted via phone by our Department in regards to “posting bail”. Wyckoff NJ, Wyckoff Police Department reminds residents to lock your car doors! We’ve had an increase in theft from vehicles as well as actual vehicles taken in our area. All of the vehicles have been unlocked. Thieves typically go driveway to driveway looking for unlocked cars. If they find a locked car, they move on until they find an unlocked one. The simple act of locking your car can decrease your chances of becoming a victim. Also, please do not leave your keys or key fobs in the vehicle. Thieves often will check to see if the keys are in the vehicle or push the start button on keyless ignition. It’s bad enough to wake up to find your vehicle gone through, but it can be worse if your vehicle is taken.

The helmets were raffled off during the annual bicycle safety program held on May 25th. This program is a joint effort by the Washington School PTO and the Wyckoff Police Department to educate the students about safety while operating a bicycle. During the program, the students are instructed on the rules of the road and laws covering bicycle riding. Officers ensure that the student’s helmets are properly fitted and oversee a confidence course that the students navigate on their bicycles. The day was a great success, and the students learned valuable skills. Many thanks to State Farm Insurance, Tammy Felton, Hackensack Meridian Health, Washington School PTO, and the Wyckoff Board of Education for helping to keep our students safe.
