Ridgewood  NJ, New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) officials today announced $19.6 million for 31 grants under the Safe Routes to School (SRTS) Program. This represents the largest amount ever awarded for the program.

Paramus Schools will be Closed on Tuesday June 7th Election Day

Next Tuesday, June 7, New Jersey will hold its primary elections.  In Paramus, six out of our eight school buildings are utilized as polling places.  As I communicated in last week’s update, our schools have multiple layers of protection and support related to the physical and mental safety of our students and staff.  However, last week’s tragedy in Uvalde has significantly impacted the sense of well-being for members of school communities across the nation.

Rabid Wildlife Alert in Saddle River : Sick fox that attacked a residents dog has tested positive for Rabies

Saddle River NJ, last week patrol units were dispatched to a neighborhood off of Chestnut Ridge Rd for a report of a sick fox in the yard.   Upon arrival, patrol found the animal to be visibly sick and witnessed it attack a resident’s dog.  Patrol was able to capture the fox and surrender it to TYCO Animal Control for testing.  Thursday afternoon Saddle River Police were advised that the Fox has tested positive for rabies.
