Employee Attacked at Hackensack University Medical Center

Hackensack NJ, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced an ongoing investigation into an assault that occurred in the morning of February 7, 2022, at Hackensack University Medical Center, 30 Prospect Avenue, Hackensack, NJ. An investigation is being conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love and the Hackensack Police Department under the direction of Officer in Charge Captain Darrin DeWitt. On Monday, February 7, 2022, at approximately 5:15 a.m., the Hackensack Police Department received a 9-1-1 call from a Hackensack University Medical Center (“HUMC”) employee on a report of an assault at the hospital.

Ice accumulations of a light glaze, with little to no snow accumulation. Effecting portions of northeast New Jersey, southern Connecticut and southeast New York. Today until 3 PM EST this afternoon. Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact  commute.

Thompson today announced that a former Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) was indicted for allegedly committing reckless manslaughter in Absecon, NJ. Ottawa, Canada, thousands of Canadian truckers and other protesters made their way to Ottawa on January 29 as part of a so-called “Freedom Convoy” to protest vaccine mandates and other public health measures implemented during the COVID-19 pandemic. The rally originated in British Columbia the week prior and consisted of trucks and their supporters driving across the country to the nation’s capital. The original goal of the rally was to protest a mandate put in place on January 15 that required all unvaccinated cross-border truckers to quarantine upon returning home, but the message has since shifted to a general condemnation of all public health interventions. Media reported that people and vehicles clogged the streets of Ottawa making noise and bringing the city to a standstill, but the rally was “mostly peaceful”.
