Washington DC, , following a comprehensive review, the Federal Reserve Board on Thursday announced a broad set of new rules that will prohibit the purchase of individual securities, restrict active trading, and increase the timeliness of reporting and public disclosure by Federal Reserve policymakers and senior staff. As a result of the new policies, senior Federal Reserve officials will be limited to purchasing diversified investment vehicles, like mutual funds.

Long-Time Fugitive Gets 51 Months For Scheme To Steal 94,000 Debit And Credit Cards From Michaels’ Stores

Paramus NJ,  a California man was sentenced today to 51 months in prison for his role in a conspiracy to steal 94,000 credit and debit cards from customers at approximately 80 Michaels’ Stores in 19 states and to then use that information to make fraudulent withdrawals from the bank accounts of those customers, Acting U.S. Attorney Rachael A. Honig announced.

Knife Wielding Man Threatens Conductor at Glen Rock Boro Hall Station

Glen Rock NJ, a maskless adult male commuter train passenger displayed a knife and threatened a NJ Transit conductor who had asked him to put on a mask as the train entered Glen Rock Boro Hall Station, Glen Rock on Wednesday morning, 10/20. The suspect disembarked the train, fleeing the area on foot, and subsequently sought shelter nearby in the home of an acquaintance. An alert Glen Rock Police supervisor observed the individual enter the home and placed a radio call for back up. The home was quickly surrounded by Glen Rock Police and Ridgewood Police officers, who ensured the suspect remained in place until NJ Transit Police officers arrived. Two (2) NJ Transit Police officers placed the individual under arrest shortly after their arrival and transported him to an undisclosed location for processing.

Bergen County Parks System Adds 4 additional Volta Electric Vehicle-charging Stations

Hackensack NJ, Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco and the Board of County Commissioners announce that the Bergen County Parks System is now home to four additional Volta electric vehicle-charging stations. The new Level-2 EV chargers are located in the Ridgefield Park section of Overpeck County Park and offer visitors free public charging for up to two hours. The expansion comes at no expense to Bergen County taxpayers thanks to an existing public-private partnership between the County of Bergen and Volta. The additional charging stations more than double the County’s public charging capacity, which to date has already been utilized over 2,800 times, powering nearly 40,000 miles of free EV driving so far.
