Ho-Ho-Kus Litter Clean-up a Huge Success

Ho-Ho-Kus NJ, The Ho-Ho-Kus Litter Clean-up was held on Saturday, May 8th. This special event, was hosted by the Mayor & Council, Shade Tree Commission, DPW, Contemporary Club and Volunteers is part of a town-wide effort to keep our public grounds and waterways litter free.  The rainy weather slowed down the clean up just a bit but in the end  even the ducks pitched in.

Twp of Washington NJ,  Twp of Washington Residents are advised to be on the lookout Public Service Electric & Gas (PSE&G) will be in the Township starting Monday May 10th and for approximately the next four or more weeks performing gas meter safety inspections of all Township residents. They will be in the Township Monday – Friday 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM, Saturday and Sunday 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM.

After the Governor of New York, Andrew Cuomo, sent COVID patients into nursing and veterans’ homes – resulting in the deaths of thousands – the Democrats in that state called for an independent investigation. When the Governor insisted that he should be the one to investigate himself, New York Democrats demanded that he step aside.

Woman Hit by a Car While Crossing the street in Tenafly Pronounced Dead at Englewood Hospital

Tenafly NJ, according to the Tenafly police on Mother’s day a woman was hit by a car while crossing a borough street with her teenage daughter Sunday morning was pronounced dead after being rushed to Englewood Hospital. The injured girl, was transported to Englewood Hospital with non-life-threatening leg injuries.

Village Council Votes on Defunding the Per Diem EMT Program on Wednesday

Ridgewood NJ, The Village of Ridgewood, civilian per diem  paid daytime EMS program has been in existence since the early 1990’s. This civilian per diem  paid daytime  EMS program supplements  the 30 EMT Volunteers who respond to calls 7 PM to 6 AM, weekends and general alarms. In 2020, there were over 1300 EMS calls and 440 Emergency Services calls in the Village. The Volunteers donated over 18,000 hours, not including training.

Ridgewood Water Customers its 2021 and Stage II Restrictions are Still in Effect

Ridgewood NJ, as the weather gets warmer it is important to remember that Stage II restrictions (2 days per week irrigation) were imposed in June 2016 and are still in effect in Glen Rock, Midland Park, Ridgewood and Wyckoff.  Without these restrictions, the use of drinking water for irrigation will continue increasing toward levels that are unsustainable regardless of drought conditions.   To reverse this trend, an ordinance was approved by the Village Council on April 12, 2017 to amend the provisions governing Watering and Water Emergencies in the Village of Ridgewood Code.  Changes include:
