New Brunswick NJ, in light of limited information, public speculation, and the spread of conspiracy theories regarding recent drone sightings in the region, the Miller Center for Policing and Community Resilience at Rutgers University convened this past Friday a drone working group from across the northeast U.S. and Canada. The gathering of nearly 50 law enforcement professionals was co-hosted by the New Jersey State Police. The working group shared information, sifted fact from fiction, discussed drone and counter drone-technologies, addressed regulatory issues and the need for federal legislation, and explored online sentiment toward the sightings.

Turning Tragedy into Light: A Unique Menorah Honors Israeli Artist and Victims of October 7th

Englewood NJ, in the aftermath of the October 7, 2023, terror attack in Israel, a Bergen County community has found a powerful way to honor the victims and bring light to Hanukkah.

On Thursday evening, members of the Englewood and Tenafly Jewish communities gathered near the Englewood Municipal Building to dedicate a special menorah. This 5-foot-tall menorah, made from ceramic shards of pottery destroyed in the attack, commemorates Israeli artist Bilha Yinon and 18 of her neighbors who lost their lives in the massacre near Gaza.

Ridgewood NJ, Several weeks ago, there was much talk at a Village Council meeting about the upcoming installation of a lead green signal at the intersection of E. Glen Ave. and N. Maple Ave.
The lead green would provide northbound traffic on N. Maple a 10-15 second jump on movement, allowing a number of vehicles to turn left onto E. Glen, which would reduce backups on northbound N. Maple.
