Box Truck Crash Closes Route 17, Route 4 Exit Ramp in Paramus

Paramus NJ, a refrigerated box truck rolled over on its side early Saturday morning, 06/08, as it entered the cloverleaf ramp leading from Route 17 northbound to Route 4 westbound in Paramus. The truck’s driver self-extricated prior to the arrival of emergency responders and was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. Two (2) heavy duty tow trucks were required to right the vehicle. Paramus Police, Paramus EMS, and Paramus Fire Engine Companies 2 & 4 responded to the incident. Crash related traffic delays in the area were mostly limited to the exit ramp itself, which was closed for approximately two (2) hours.

Tesla Crash Claims the Lives of an Ornamental Tree and Several Shrubs on Lincoln Avenue in Ridgewood

Ridgewood NJ, a single vehicle late Friday afternoon, 06/07, crash at the intersection of Lincoln Avenue and Manor Road, Ridgewood destroyed a Tesla sedan and also claimed the lives of an ornamental tree and several shrubs. The adult male Tesla driver was uninjured in the mishap, which was allegedly caused when he swerved to avoid a slow moving vehicle that had cut in front of him. A flatbed tow truck removed the wreckage. Ridgewood Police and Ridgewood Fire/EMS responded to the incident.

Soil Testing Firm Assures Ridgewood Council that “there is no public health concern” at Schedler

Ridgewood NJ, at ‍ Wednesday evening’s Village Council Meeting, Matrix New World Engineering presented a report on the soil testing results on the berm at the Schedler property (pictured). Matrix assured the Council that there is no public health concern”, stating that three of the compounds found in the soil (lead, mercury and benz[a]anthracene) do not require any action or remediation.

Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Makes its Way Through Ridgewood

Ridgewood NJ, the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics came through town today and, as always, the Ridgewood Police Department members were excited to join. Sgt. Anthony Mormino, Officer Hector Perez, Officer Zack Knudnsen, and Parking Officer Ben Ritter represented us as the torch made it’s way through Ridgewood. The torch is carried 750 miles each year as a way to raise money for and show our support for the athletes of the NJ Special Olympics.
